Inbound US Mail exposed to radiation?

I heard a rumor that all mail is exposed to radiation that is coming into the United States to kill the possibility of anthrax.


I find this a little concerning for people who obtain 2c-i or any other iodine containing compound internationally as (from my understanding) iodine absorbs radiation readily and couldnt having your thyroid exposed to excessive radiation (which it would through the iodine) cause cancer?

If it were true that all inbound mail were being exposed to high levels of ionizing radiation, then anything containing various metals would also turn into hot isotopes. Hence: Don't worry about it, it ain't happening.
