Ecstasy and Drinking...

SWIM was wondering if it is really dangerous as they say to NOT drink while on E....?? Or is it a urban mith??
SWIM has taken E before but always drinks...not so much...but does...
so is this really dangerous?
E gets SWIM's heartrate really fast....sometimes SWIM can't breath....
But in the other hand SWIM has taken E without drinking an gets the heartrate as fast....

Waste of time ISHO. Alcohol makes the effects come on slower or not as intensely.

E will raise SWIMs heartrate whereas alcohol would lower it. Most pills are told not te be taken with alocohol because the alcohol break whatever is in SWIM's stomach down faster then the normal stomach acid rate.

Althought SWIM has rolled face for 4 hours, sniffed half a pill, and then taken a shot of like 40% to burn up the remains of the E in SWIM's stomach, to bring the roll back up.

Other than that i wouldnt advise drinking EXCESSIVLY and rolling.

I've never heard that and from my understanding alcohol is very readily absorbed by the lining of the stomach so I'm not quite sure how alcohol gets broken down by food. I'm also quite sure that food already in the stomach can absorb alcohol, hence the common knowledge that eating prior to drinking buffers against getting drunk as fast.

please explain what you mean.

Well from what i have heard Alcohol when hits a chemical, rather then a food, such as a pill which could range from Advil to G's Up Ecstasy, instead of being absorbed into the lining of your stomach immediately, it will act as another acid in your stomach, and break up the pill, or its remains.

As an example, parachuting your e pill will result in a faster effect [crushing the pill up and placing it in a small wet peice of paper towel], or chewing it will result in a faster effect, and a horrible taste in your mouth. The alcohol just seperates the pill in your stomach faster then having it sit there.

This is just from experiences SWIM has told me about =]
who knows, SWIM may be wrong, i am just throwing what i can help with out there.

From SWIMS experience with Alcohol and E in the past, which is quite vast, I would conclude that Alcohol actually reduces the effects E quite severely, losing a lot of the euphoria, empathy and intensity.

SWIM now only uses MDMA crystals a couple of times a year and will never drink alcohol before or during the experience again. Once half way back to baseline a few beers work a treat though, just as long as you hydrate yourself during the roll.

Alcohol should not be consumed with E because the user gets dehydrated a lot easier when the two are mixed, potentially dangerously so.

Having said that, its not at all uncommon for some users to drink alot of alcohol when using mdma, a dangerous act imho and one which is not advisable.

Op, One should try to drink water while on E. It keeps one from getting dehydrated, and while not drinking water probably won't cause major problems in most cases, its better to stay hydrated.

I read original post as water not alcohol too! The advice is against drinking when on E. Its not a healthy thing to do! If one insists on doing it they should make sure to drink water too.

We're not upset whether or not our advice is followed, we just dish out information and realize that you are a smart and able enough person to make your own decision based on the information given. Just realize that alcohol in addition to MDMA in addition to whatever is adulterating the pill will affect SWIY's judgement. Not to mention the dehydrating qualities...(not trying to be harsh sounding or anything)

^ Exactly. Drinking while on MDMA worsens dehydration issues, and is far more likely to make SWIY sick, as well as not being great for the heart. It's not inherently lethal, though, so it's up to SWIY's own discretion.

Pure MDMA = Stimulant Amphetamine
Pure Alcohol = GABA Depressant (similar to Barbiturates and Benzodiazepines)

Basically, it would be similar to taking Adderall then a Xanax; the two would cancel each other out partially. The consumption of alcoholic beverages while taking MDMA would be very counterproductive in that the overall experience would be greatly reduced.

Not to mention dehydration issues, though those are less problematic in a controlled environment (AKA: Not a rave).

SWIM is the exact opposite, SWIM finds that alcohol and E is the only way to get the ultimate rush SWIM does not get the same rush when he has tried E (or any other drug) on its own without alcohol

feel fortunate that SWIY is an exception. Around here there have been a few threads dedicated to experiences with MDMA + alcohol and nearly every person expressed diminished feelings when combining MDMA and alcohol. Keep in mind SWIY's experiences may not always reflect the majority's.

SWIM has noticed that after long absence from alcohol (losing all tolerance), drinking a small amount (1 or 2 beers max) has a euphoric stimulant effect, where drinking anymore would lead to a depressant effect. This is a very small window, easy to overshoot. That euphoric stimulant effect could potentially add to MDMA's euphoria. So that could explain some people getting benefit. It's probably not a great idea to experiment stuff like this in a club environment of course for reasons already mentioned above. In a cool, controlled environment like a friend's house or hotel, there should not be too much worry of overheating. Most of the overheating is not caused by MDMA anyway. What the person is doing while under the influence is more of the concern (dancing, being in crowded environment, etc.). And with alcohol, the more SWIY drinks, the more dehydrated SWIY will get, it's as simple as that. So don't combine the 2 if SWIY is planning on doing any of those kinds of activities, SWIM won't try to scare SWIY from doing something he will probably do anyway, but just be cautious and use moderation whenever combining any drugs.

That is an interesting theory KyleM, I too have noticed a kinda stimulant euphoric effect with small amounts of alcohol, usually after not drinking for a week or more, which sadly, is quite rare. :P

Another theory is that drinking alcohol results in a boost in confidence and lowers inhibitions leading the user to let go more and enjoy the ride. Some people get nervous and/or scared when taking some substance and that can form a mental block where you fight the drug and the feelings/effects become diminished.
