I work in a place that regularly orders reagents and compounds from typical places . Wondering if I could get GBL at work, and I see this:
Quote:
Compliance/Screening Notes: This order may require review prior to shipping
Uh-oh, so much for GBL. I closed down the site and started to walk over to sleep, but then thought to myself, "Hey, we get chlorpromazine at work no problem. Surely that's restricted." Sure enough, gives the same "screening note" for chlorpromazine. I am 99.999% sure we don't have a license from the DEA for scheduled drugs like meth, but if we did get chlorpromazine, what is going to happen if I try to order GBL?

I couldn't find out if it was directly scheduled, signs point to "no," but then again, at the DEA site, "This list describes the basic or parent chemical and does not describe the salts, isomers and salts of isomers, esters, ethers and derivatives which may also be controlled substances."

Is this where GBL resides? Schedule I? Thanks for any info. The online site is remarkably unhelpful here. If it matters by state, I'm in MA.Edited by: micklemouse

Kallisti, I've edited the company names from your post to a)stop people thinking they can be used as Sources, and b)to stop you from accidentally incriminating yourself!

Welcome to the Forum and hope you find your answers, but please check out the rules!

Sorry, the question wasn't meant to be a source question, rather I knew it wasn't a source and was trying to see what the deal was since GBL isn't scheduled. Information about listed but non-scheduled chemicals isn't easy to come by, and reading the chemical diversion portions of the CFR is about as fun as licking 9-volts. I've since managed to dig up info about List I chemicals. They require some kind of reporting with the DEA, according to this site:
htt p://www.mindandmuscle. net/content/page-47.html
(broke link on purpose)

Still don't have any real idea what is up with List 2 chemicals. There's some common stuff on there.

I did check them, but missed the obvious bolded line. Sorry!

Might want to edit the subject, too, if you can.
