Unhappy Withdrawal Again

Okay, so swim needs help with dealing with the dumbass withdrawals of his friend hydro. Swim has posted this before(when he first joined), but needs more answers than last time. Can you help him out? The cold flashes, anxiety, and restlesness have already settled in and are getting ready to stay with him for two weeks again. SHIT! Bodyaches will come next. Answers will be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

Big Mahalos cuz's.

Re: Withdrawal Again

Drink lots of water. Try to get as much sleep as possible (using OTC sleep meds if you have to). SWIM has found that forcing yourself to stay on a good diet and keeping a full stomach helps (even when you don't feel like eating). Grit your teeth - you'll make it through it. Good luck.

Re: Withdrawal Again

damn pillpopper, what can swim say! if swiys had the experience before, than swiy will know what to expect and than use that to swiys advantage. ride it baby! or perhaps try getting a friend to help by getting in something that will stop the heebiegeebies - obviously not what you were addicted to! Swim got given some methadone and a few benzo's for her last w/d. pop some multi-vits if swiy isnt up to eating and no doubt swiy wont be. and as stated above, its inportant to keep the body hydrated.
Take good care& good luck

Re: Withdrawal Again

swim would just try to taper off the drug if at all possible. Am actually tapering off tramadol script ATM, has taken about 2 weeks, but that is kuz have access. Not sure if this can be done by all swimmers, guess depends on availability and circumstances.

Have used this a few times over past years prescribed the drug, the idea is to come off but still avoid the withdraw.

Re: Withdrawal Again

If you have access to benzos, ie Xanax & Niravam are the best, then id suggest getting them to help sleep. If you can get some Adderall that would help too. Buy some immodium ad or anyhing containing loperamide hcl, it will take away diarrhea and any stomach problems. Some people say ithelps with sleeping and leg pains to but i cant say one way or the other. Id buy some Kava Kava extract pills at the health food store to help calm you down and sleep naturally plus id look for some kratom at a local health food store or smoke shop. Then id take alot of baths.

Re: Withdrawal Again

ha withdrawels suck thats for sure, its the price you pay for such a great feeling drug.
great when you have it, then it starts to take on a sinister side.

maybe cut down your doage slowly instead of going cold turkey?
otherwise getting through sleep is the worst part, so sleeping aids help.

oh yes and really hot baths with those muscle relaxing herbs in them really help swim.
swim knows you cant stay in a bath forever but you can go swimming.
this helps swim alot.

good luck, dont worry you are not alone in the withdrawing and wishing you hadnt taken so much but you love it so much so you take it anyway senario

Re: Withdrawal Again

Methadone for hydrocodone withdrawal is abit uh taking it too far.Why risk getting addicted to a very serious and very powerful opiate over something that could probably be beaten with tapering and a diazepam prescription?

Re: Withdrawal Again

Thank you swimmers for your help and support. Swim is dealing with it and can feel the withdrawal slightly going away, but the craving is still there and will always be there. The baths and sleep aids work wonders in regaurds to the withdrawal. Kratom might be next. He cant taper off of the drug either because hes all out of it and cant get a script until next month. Looking on the bright side of things, his tollerance will die down and he'll need less to achieve the same effects with a smaller amount in the future.

Mahalos everybody.
