SWIM has been using GHB on a weekly basis since last summer
never in her experience has it been odourless or tasteless...although the media "advertises" it as such SWIM finds that it is very salty tasting (occassionally gag inducing) and sour smelling (not a pleasent odour) her friends have been using it for years and have noted the same thing has this been SWIY's experience with GHB as well? ...or is this odd |

Re: GHB is not odourless..... ?
GHB generally has a very faint smell and a salty taste....are you sure sometimes swiy hasnt been buying GBL or 1,4-B??
Both of these are similar to GHB but esp GBL has a very strong odour, will react with hard plastics(melt them) and is stronger than GHB... Also note that some people "dealers etc" will dilute there 'G" with other solvents or H2O or whatever they can...which will change the smell, appearance, freezing point etc... Mr G any comments...?? |

Re: GHB is not odourless..... ?
GHB *is* odourless and, whilst it has a very strong salty taste if taken undiluted, when added to a small glass of cold water it is pretty much tasteless.
The only thing of note regarding its taste is that it tends to make any drink that has a flavour (coke, oj, lemonade etc), taste a little off because adding salt (which NaGHB has plenty of) to any drink like that will make it taste a little strange. |

Re: GHB is not odourless..... ?
SWIM just got some GHB the other day and SWIM believes he got GBL instead of GHB. The liquid in the vials was very thick like a syrup and has some smell in it. Is it GHB or GBL?

Re: GHB is not odourless..... ?
To quote the most accurate description of GBL previously posted on this forum, it smells like "warm vinyl hose" (read garden hose left in the sun).
GBL is not a viscous substance either. GHB, however, before it has been diluted and when it is still at a high temperature *is* a fairly viscous substance but it rapidly hardens to a solid as it cools. Therefore GHB is unlikely to be viscous at room temperature unless it has been mixed with something else. Therein lies the danger of purchasing illicit substances from people of questionable morals. Chemistry is interesting, it allows one to understand more about what they choose to put in their bodies, sometimes even allowing them to avoid having to deal with people of questionable morals altogether. In some cases, certain procedures are less like chemistry and more like simple heating and mixing, so there is little excuse for opting to ingest liquids of unknown pharmacology. |

Re: GHB is not odourless..... ?
swim personally finds the look, smell, and taste to be reminiscent of powdered laundry detergent.
