horrible sweating!

SWIM has been taking 20mg a day of generic Adderall (they're round blue pills). Anyway, after he takes his morning dose he feels great for a while but his pits start sweating and its getting to be unbearable. He actually has to go into the bathroom while at work to put on more deodorant. Does anyone else experience this?

Sweating is a not too uncommon side effect from stimulant use.

SWIM has this problem when to much Adderall is taken. The weird thing is that when SWIM took an average dose of Wellbutrin she would sweat all day and had to carry deodorant around everywhere she went.

Don't have that problem on an average dose of Adderall though. Try adjusting dosage.

^^ Is this a common side effect of S(S/N)RI's? I'm taking ultram as prescribed and experience this, but I thought it was from the stimulant aspect I get from the drug. Although now that I think about it, I am not sure whether the stimulation is a manifestation of its SNRI activity or if there is some more direct mechanism.

Did swiy feel any stimulation from wellbutrin?

A minute amount of stimulation but mostly irritation.

When SWIM takes his adderall prescription (20mg IR Generic, orange ovals), and *concentrates* on a task, he definitely sweats more; it's a standard side effect of the Adderall, don't be too alarmed by it (keep more hydrated than you think you should be).

Maybe you can try getting some of your sweat glands zapped with aluminum chloride (by using a deodorant that has that as the active ingredient; see link below)

yeah i think this a very normal side effect. SWIM notices that she definitely sweats more on days when she takes her 30mg then days when she doesn't take it at all. and she doesn't even really have to be doing anything. she can still be cold, and sweating... it's strange. and uncomfortable of course. she got the prescription for this drysol nightly deodarant from her doc, SWIM thinks its magnesium though? don't know... but it didn't do much for her besides burn. it doesn't bother her too much anymore to have this problem she just brings deodarant everywhere in her bag. but could understand it being harder for a guy to put deodarant on throughout the day.

don't know how long this has been happening to SWIY and not trying to make SWIY feel worse but, for SWIM, this side effect has not gone away or gotten better at all for the 1yrs+ that she's been taking adderall. she just has been dealing with it and finding out ways that it won't be such an annoyance.
