According to the DEA 97.8 million Americans, age 12 and older, have used marijuana at least once. The ranks of semi-regular smokers total more than 25 million.

If 39.8 percent of those over 12 have taken a toke, the number of young people getting high is higher. The DEA says that totals 41.8 percent of 12th-graders -- 31.7 percent have smoked in the past year - -- 46.9 percent of college students and 56.7 percent of young adults.

Is this success? or maybe not all of them inhaled.

This is of course true. So parents lock your kids up because odds are very good they will smoke.

i think it would be better: parents, accept your kids will smoke/drink/have sex anyways, so tell em the facts, let em do it to a certain amount and make sure that they can trust you, so if they have problems they can talk to you instead of ending up in hospital or in jail

let people do as they like. their's 2 out comes of someone who smokes for the 1st time. A) they'll like it, concider it again maby or B) they hate it and don't smoke again, but enlightend to those who do smoke, and all ignoraces and myths the dea puts into our heads. sounds like to me more people should smoke!

The program is by the ACLU (who, in lieu of other reliable sources, use the DEA for some fact-checking) in support of marijuana law reform, and was produced with the help of NORML and other advocate groups! Please read the articles or watch the programs of the OP before posting slander about them.

This program is actually of quite an intelligent design. It's non-threatening demeanor and casual approach to reforming what most everyone agrees is a failed law system regarding cannabis is a boon to the law-reform community and makes a good impression on those less willing to take this issue seriously. A focus on the life-hampering indecencies of possession-related incarceration and restriction of medicinal treatment make valid legal cases, which argued by the ACLU, are no small force for the cause.

My friend says:
I was actually thinking about this today. I see a lot more people smoking weed now, it's just not as taboo anymore. I mean in high schools and junior highs, people see their friends smoking weed and still doing fine in school and life. So, they end up trying it and find themselves in the same place. Now, of course this is not always the case. There is still going to be the stereotypical group of weed smokers who fail most of their classes etc. The point is that there are a lot more diverse groups of people smoking weed now. It's not just the stereotypical types. I think in the past maybe it was leaning more to the majority of weed smoking groups fitting the stereotype. Where as now it's sort of flipped around and the person you'd expect the least is a chronic.
