Talking Psychedelics vs. uppers vs. opiates vs. dissociatives

I'm sure this has been done before, but I'm relatively new here, and it would be cool to see what the balance of the drug users is like here...

Psychedelics is stuff like shrooms, LSD, DMT, etc. Uppers is stuff like MDMA, cocaine, speed, etc. I would class ketamine as a Psychedelic in lower amounts, and a dissociative in higher amounts. DMT could potentially be seen as a dissociative, too; but in swims experience i would call is a psychedelic.

What kind is swiy's favorite? What particular drugs in that category? Which does swiy mix?

swim likes psychedelics the best, with LSD being the no. 1. This would then be followed by certain uppers, namely MDMA. Swim doesn't particularly like coke, as it is extremely expensive and just turns swim into a wanker who wants more . Speed is seen as pretty dirty around here, and swim has never tried it. Swim has also not had much experience with any Opiates, and he doesn't think the idea appeals to him much.

Opinions?

PS: can only the mods make polls here? I couldn't see an option for it.

SWIM voted for psychedelics, but he really can't choose. He's dexing right now (dissociative), but he loves psychedelics (LSA/mushrooms) and uppers (MDA/MDMA) even more.

Not to mention swim sometimes hallucinates, e.g. a mouse crawling all over swims wall. Swim seems to hallucinate more than is normal...

Re: Psychedelics vs. uppers vs. opiates vs. dissociatives

SWIM likes a little bit of everything, but if swim had to choose, it would have to be shrooms or mdma. The feeling utter bliss is a rarity in this world these days, many people dont know what its like to feel happiness to the max. Shrooms also make SWIM feel like a philosipher coming up with crazy thoughts and ideas.

Re: Psychedelics vs. uppers vs. opiates vs. dissociatives

SWIM basically only takes drugs to be taken out of this world.

Could psychadelics do it? sure...but inconveniently.

Salvia....yes.
DMT....yes. (This is a psychedelic...but swim is sure that everyone will agree that its experience is beyond that of shrooms or LSD).
DXM....yes

Though not all of these drugs are actual dissociative anaesthetics, swim loves the idea of a dissociative (losing all sensory perception and flying around within the mind).

SWIM's vote: dissociatives.

But don't get swim wrong, swim likes drugs that put him in a good mood, but swim personally finds that using them can become a bad habit...and he feels better when he doesn't need them. (Ironically, dmt brings swim the biggest euphoria he ever has in his life, and even more ironically, swim never has any cravings to do it again.........for that reason at least).

i consider mdma more of a psychedlic, swim doesnt hallucinate but finds the high more towards that
and finds LSD and DOB to be very much like uppers
SWIM once took a single dose of acid and stayed up for two days, he was also candyflipping though =\

Re: Psychedelics vs. uppers vs. opiates vs. dissociatives

This one is easy for SWIM. He thinks of a psychedelics as a very important tool of self-exploration, exploration of consciousness and finding answers, but they are also recreational. Heck, you can't afford to be too serious if you're trying to find god and notice that it's always been there or that there is no personal god. You need to take it at the perspective of recreation infused with spiritiality to gain something from experiencing it. Or, take it purely recreationally if you wish to gain the same sort of spiritual growth on another level. SWIM has always like'd to be amazed, and has been (maybe too much) fact or reality-orientated, so for him the psychedelics are like the beauty of philosophy and science condensed into a one big pool in midst of which he can jump.

Re: Psychedelics vs. uppers vs. opiates vs. dissociatives

Swim's favorite is a tie between acid and morphine. Both are such different experiences with such different effects that he can hardly compare them to each other, let alone pick one as his favorite. Swim did vote Downers on the poll though. Just because opiates are more practical then psychedelics for swim as far as regular use goes.

SWIM isn't sure, because a lot of them act in different ways. Most of them swim thinks act like psychedelics....but Salvia for example, that one is usually an on-going debate (wiki says it's a dissociative).

Just a thought....what would be? Everyone swim knows calls it in all-rounder, since it does a lot of everything.

Re: Psychedelics vs. uppers vs. opiates vs. dissociatives

SWIM primarily enjoys psychedelic substances, however he also holds an interested in said "uppers, downers and dissociative" compounds. The only dissociative he enjoys, however, is ketamine (the only other he has tried has been DXM) and finds that such class follows psychedelics. Uppers and downers, he quite rarely ever uses, however enjoys observing their chemical structures and understanding how such structure promotes certain results.
He is quite amazed at how many votes psychedelics have gotten, thus far.

dissociatives for SWIM; it provides the greatest introspective experience

for a wonderful social experience, MDMA takes a close second; but he finds much more amazement in what is within rather than what is out there. everyone is wired differently

SWIM think it depends on the way it is beeing used... SWIM like to think that he likes psychedelics the most, but he voted for stims, since that is what he used the most.

dissociatives is probertly the most werid one though, can be really funny

Re: Psychedelics vs. uppers vs. opiates vs. dissociatives

swim still has a lot to try, but swim's dabbled in almost every group. swim's favorite (out of the limited options) would be a tie between magic mushrooms, and morphine. mushrooms (1/16 oz, few stems) are the hardest psychedelic, while 50mg of semi-liquid morphine was the biggest downer. swim has very limited in dissassociatives (120mg dxm) and uppers (80mg of adderall), and that's why swim didn't vote, but gave his opinion. morphine was also the least addicted of the opiates swim has done, which was most of the big ones like percocet, vicodine, suboxone, and oxycontin

Re: Psychedelics vs. uppers vs. opiates vs. dissociatives

While effects-wise, psychedelics and stimulants are both amazing, and neck-and-neck for first place in SWIM's eyes, SWIM would have to add that he loves weed. Although this probably makes SWIM sound "softcore" or "mainstream" or "unexperimental" or something, I think it has to be said. Although the effects are nothing compared to a lot of other drugs, SWIM loves the way you can just smoke loads of it and continue through everyday life fairly well. Plus SWIM thinks that the whole stoner culture is pretty cool.

SWIM thinks Psychadelics are where it's at. MDMA in SWIM's opinion is a Psychedelic, although he hasn't tried shrooms he knows that hallucinating will be his favorite thing because he likes to think and he likes to laugh and that's what he has heard about shrooms.

^^^^^ Entactogens could easily have their own place on this poll (MDMA, MDA, etc.), but I guess they are closer to psychedelics than stimulants.

Really would prefer the four choices broken down into further alternatives, but ah well.

SWIM got his first buzz off codeine at age 13 , when RX'd them for a root canal. He's had a 40 year love/hate relationship with opioids ever since.

BUT....Ketamine ranks #1 with Him. K is weird to be addicted to.
Opioids, especially Oxycodone#2
LSD? If it actually existed, it would be #3
Instead SWIM chooses 5-MeO-DMT as his #3
SWIM is holding 2 grams of DMT for his future inspection.
Maybe DMT will be #3. Vamos a ver.
Oooops, forgot: Peyote ranks way above everything. #0
Yote is da bomb of gentle mind bombs. Da kine!
Alprazolam is currently his #4.
#5 ?

This is all a dream I dreamed while listening to Ziggy Marley, remembering Bob. Saw him Live on the Rastaman vibration tour. He wuz da best. My #1 musical experience!
#2 Peter Tosh Concert
#3 3rd World
#4 Jimmy Cliff
#5 Free, Opening for the rolling Stones......
