somebody once suggested to swim to watch this movie while tripping

it shows views of the earth from space

anybody know the name?

I think the movie(s) youre referring to are, "BBC: Planet Earth".
It is one of the most remarkable series of videos ever caught on camera...
A 13 dvd set worth every cent they charge for it.

All swimmers must recognize and witness for themselves....they wont regret it.

Planet Earth truly is remarkable

Perhaps swiy is looking for 'Powers of Ten', a film by the experimental director Charles Eames where the camera zooms out by powers of ten (10^2, 10^3, 10^4...etc.) until the milky way is a mere speck of light. Then the camera is returned to the first power, before diving in to the skin, cells, and atoms of a human at powers of 10 (10^-2, 10^-3...etc.). Remarkably innovative and creative for a 1977 film, though it was based on a book written in the 50s.

SWIM believes it is Planet Earth. It has some of the most remarkable footage of the planet, and is really great for LSD!
It goes into beautiful detail of all areas of the world, however mainly focuses on nature (not so much any urbanized areas, but that's a plus for SWIM). Very marvelous to experience.

it isnt the space odyssey or power of ten film

i've never seen it before but supposedly it was just beautiful images of the earth from space, i think it was a nasa video and i thought it was suggested on this forum

i think i remember looking on imdb at that time and the cover was a picture of the earth looking like a giant blue ball, cant be sure tho

I have it on DVD. It's got lots of amazing footage. I found it quite moving. But if you need to watch a movie to enjoy your trip, maybe you should increase your dosage.
