Cuban tobacco Vs. Canadian/American tobacco

Brand name: Romeo Y Julieta

Contents:

Tar: 10 mg
Nicotine: 0.6 mg
CO: 11 mg

Now the question is, why do these cigarettes feel mush stronger than Belmont's, Players, Marlborough's, etc? They have mush less emissions, but everyone I give them to comments on their strength. I don't smoke, for the record, just wonder what is it that causes a cigarette to be harsh or strong.
