Health - Having a stroke from LSD?

what's up folks, im male 24 years old, live in V.A

back in October 2007, I was using LSD about 2 times a week, and the last time I eat LSD was about 5 days before halloween, and it caused me to have a seriouse stroke I was laid up in the hospital outta my mind for lil over a week, they found the stroke in my brain from cat scans and mri's and mra's and the stroke left me with terrible eye vision I now still have tunnel vision and slight visual effects on my side views at times, eye sight is so bad I cant even drive my own car and im now on disability, im just letting yall know LSD can be very dangerous so always watch out.

Are you sure the stroke was caused by the LSD? do you have any idea what dosages you were taking and that it was actually LSD? Never heard of this before. All the same i hope you can recover some. Be interesting to see if anyone else has any info on this?

yes it was LSD, dont know the dosage but I know the blotter we was getting was very strong and sum of the best I ever eat ever, and I was droppin 2-3 hits at a time, and even the hospital said my stroke was from using LSD because when I first went to the hospital I said I was on LSD.

no I dont use any more, I'm def to scared to ever touch any stimulants or psycadelics ever again. having a stroke was very painfull and scary I dont ever wanna go threw that again.

I assume they ran a "tox screen." Did the test come out positive for LSD?

What are your friend's eating and exercising habits? What was he doing when he had the stroke? Does he have a family history of heart disease, stroke, etc.?

Gee this is a lot of LSD especially if it is as strong as swiyou say. You gotta be careful with this stuff hey. As you already know. I would suggest NO-ONE to take that much acid, you'll freak yourself out. I know this from experience. Especially if you are not a strong minded person.

Keep us updated with your progress and hopefully throught his thread you may find some similar situation's so you can relate and have some more understanding.

Indeed Para, more information would be useful.

Please remember that association is NOT the same thing as causality folks.

While stimulant use can be a factor in stroke, there are no reports in the literature of LSD being implicated

the LSD did brain damage in back of my head, where your vision is at in your brain, and that caused a stroke, now I have like perm psycadelic vision the doctors are hoping with in a year or so my eye sight should be getting better, but like I said its already better from when it happend. I still have my fingers cross'd to regain all my eye sight back

What was SWIL doing when the stroke occurred? Exercise? Sitting?

And how did SWIL sleep when dosing as often as he did? Sleep deprivation could play a part SWIM thinks...

I've never heard of anyone having a stroke from ingesting LSD. Interesting.

normally i would say can anyone find this as being documented and having any proof as to LSD being the cause of the stroke. and since this is just like any other fantastic wonderful day i will say documentation, proof and then understanding. it could have just been that it was just coincidence. perhaps it was karma for something. karma affects trippers alot more than anyone else. or at least they notice it alot more.

SWIM has found that a lot of doctors will tell you lies to convince you to stop doing what they dont approve of. one even told my friend there was a 50% chance that he would die from one dose.

there are even studies that claim marijuana use can lead to a stroke.

do you have more information on the specifics of your stroke. Typically, a clot forms in a small blood vessel within the brain that has been previously narrowed due to the long-term, damaging effects of high blood pressure (hypertension) or diabetes. so strokes are usually an event after a long period building up to it. LSD has been know to cause high blood pressure sometimes, so long term habitual use could cause a stroke, but unlikely.

LSD did not cause your stroke. No human, or animal, has ever had a stroke from LSD, not even in massive overdose. If you really had a stroke then it was from something else.

What would be the mechanism by which LSD would cause a stroke?
