Eating coca leaves Experiment -
So swim is sitting at his computer at 2:01 and decides to do something useful, so swim plans on eating 10 grams of Coca Leaves. 37 minutes later he has successfully capped 23 little green tabs. Swim plans on taking 3 grams of Calcium Carbonate to make things interesting...
Swim will post what occurrences take place... hopefully some neat ones. They experiment starts now, 2:41 a.m |

Re: Mhmmm... Tastes Great - Experiment -
Well the time now dwindles into the wee hours of the morning (4:35). Swim had felt a very mild buzz, but nothing more. Swim would like to note that this was taken on an empty stomach, accompanied with a bit of tobacco smoking. It was mildly stimulating at best and swim was wondering why their wouldn't be more of an effect or for that matter, should swim have even expected more than the one experienced?
thanks- |

Re: Mhmmm... Tastes Great - Experiment -
swim has done something similar, ingesting 3 grams of coca leaves wrapped in digestible cellulose, with a little sodium bicarbonate. worked. a little stomach rumble.
went swimming and enjoyed a little boosted stamina. milder than chewing but perhaps longer lasting. b Last edited by Benga; 08-04-2009 at 18:01. |

Re: Mhmmm... Tastes Great - Experiment -
Do you think it could possibly be swim's tolerance to coca? Swim didn't really get any discomfort, just that faint buzz. Swim is pretty large, 6'3 and 122 kilos, so swim imagines that might have played a role...
Swim has heard of eating coca on a regimented basis, for positive health effects... Do any knowledgeable sources know anything of this? -thanks BearClaw |

Re: Mhmmm... Tastes Great - Experiment -
have heard of it also. i think it is mostly used in as treatment for health problems in traditional settings, no precise sources come to mind but perhaps Catherine Allen's "the hold life has" would mention this.
then there's a post about using coca leaves as oregano on pizza, which is a little silly. tolerance and stomach acidity levels would definetly play a role. swim has used this physical situations only a couple of times, so its hard to judge effects clearly, but physical stamina was increased ( less fatigue after swimming 1000 meters). however, swim did this without using gelcaps, which do take some time to dissolve, which is probably not great in this case. swim should try with a lower dose and in some kind of faster to breakdown shell. swim used cellulose used for wrapping chinese / japanese medecine powders for swallowing. very thin and just holds the goods enough to swallow b |

Why not ingest all the coca?
SWIM does not like wasting time brewing tea. SWIM wonders why no one talks about ingesting the whole leaf so that there doesn't have to be an extraction process with oral use? SWIM has recently gotten some coca powder. SWIM spent the day experimenting with ways to use it. The tea was mild. Chewing was cool but messy and time consuming. Finally, SWIM threw 5 grams of powder in a shaker with some water and downed all of the contents. It took roughly 30 minutes until SWIM felt very alert and stimulated; even mildly euphoric. This is the way SWIM ingests his kratom too, so it seemed like it would work. SWIM thinks this is a good way because none of the alkaloids or contents will be lost, and it's quick and easy; although you have to wait for it to kick in. SWIM felt the effects the longest this way too; close to 3 hours, even after using the other methods throughout the day.
