Mental illness potentiating street drugs.

O.k so grandmas roomate is well lets just say "less then stable" and has interesting reaction to just about any drug, pot makes her here/see cats meowing that arnt there, kratom makes her want to kill her self, mushrooms makes her halucinate words via synistesia. Do otehrs with mental illness'es have similar effects?

And yes this girl has been told she shouldent be using drugs...

Re: Mental illness potentiating street drugs.

SWIM gets those effects from mushrooms almost every single time, but he has no history or symptoms of any mental illness more severe than ADHD or mild depression at times.

The kratom effects seem in line with the side effects one would expect in a person with pre-existing mental health problems.

As for the marijuana effects, that's just odd.

Re: Mental illness potentiating street drugs.

Swim gets more stable the more.... well, this is another story... mental illness? -nope, although his sourrounding is trying to make him mentally ill.

Any street drugs that your ant actually can use or can relate to enjoyable or just beneficial effects?-good trick would probably be, seeing the scary things as enjoyable or tryring to do so. *g*

Once, swim´s pet was hit hard by PCP, it was taking in unkowingly and found itself sitting within -well- conservative not-so-much-PCP-pet-fans, that were just too polite to drown this cat in public, when they realized, the obvious by just looking into her eyes... it´s 13 years now since then, but for sure, everybody will have remembered this cat, that was probably seeing the ceiling flying away in symmetrical green polygons, but she seemed, as if she actually liked it at this time... so no regrets. ;-)

Re: Mental illness potentiating street drugs.

swim had for a considerable time a schizophrenic room-mate. he didnt have any unusual reactions to drugs that I could note (he did just about anything one could name), but had a very interesting reaction to sobriety after two weeks without his medications. seeing, hearing, interacting with many things and persons that were not there, and immediately before he got back on his meds, he began using cocaine heavily and the symptoms disappeared. swim's take on it is that self medication is, and should be, a very real paradigm in psychiatric models.
