So swim has a PRETTY GOOD IDEA.....
SWIM is suffering from a horrible cough, it hurts a lot when swim coughs. Sometimes blood comes up from his throat being so cut up from the coughing. Also has painful diahrea (sp?) SWIM is going to the doctors tomorrow, and is hoping he will get some decent pain meds, most likely in the form of syrup. Do any other SWIMS out there know a good way to make sure I get pretty good pain meds for this. My girlfriend had a sore throat and they gave her codeine syrup. Swim is hoping for the hydro syrup. Any advice/ideas.

Re: So swim has a PRETTY GOOD IDEA.....
SWIM advises that your health is more important in this case than the possibility of scoring pain meds. But expressing symptoms how they are, it looks possible that they may prescribe pain management chemicals anyways.

Re: So swim has a PRETTY GOOD IDEA.....
Doing anything more than describing symptoms, for example telling that a friend got this and that and got better or asking for a particular product, can ring the doctor's bells. Physicians are prepared to detect drug-seeking behavior.

Some physicians are better at this than others, the best bet in actually getting something good is to avoid any noticeable narcotic seeking behaviors.

Re: So swim has a PRETTY GOOD IDEA.....
Once upon a time SWIM was very good at scoring whatever he wanted, however swim hasn't done this "hustle" in quite some time. SWIM does not look like a drug addict at all. He actually looks like the exact opposite. Swim never mentions that he would like a narcotic for the pain, but he does make sure the doctor knows he is in pain and that he has been trying other things for pain such as tylenol ibuprofen, and that they were not helping at all. Which in this case, is actually true. Swim just really hopes he does not get one of those doctors who will only give decent pain meds if your basically dying. Swim has in the past has had a doc, refuse to give him narcotics for a back injury he received at work. Swim then yelled at the old man and explained how he was paying to see him for his back pain, and that if he had to come back because the meds did not work, that he would not be very happy. Swims doctor wrote him a 20 script for vicodin.
