Opinions - Does Kava-kava increase enjoyment of music?

One thing swim looks for in any recreational substance he finds is increased enjoyment of sound and music.Be it the new layers and depth music takes with diphenhydramine or the feeling of melting with the music opiates give.Is it pleasureable to listen to music after using kava kava?

It is pleasurable in the sense that you may be more relaxed and in a mood suitable to enjoyment of music, but I cannot think of any specific effects of Kava on auditory acuity that would enhance enjoyment of music.

Sometimes, when my panda consumes Kava concurrently with cannabis, he finds that the sense of relaxation and calm engendered by the Kava makes it easier to pay attention to music - hence heightening enjoyment - particularly with more intricate and complex pieces. Smoking cannabis can lead to my Panda browsing his music for excessive periods of time, listening to bits here and there but never really settling on a specific genre or sound to get into. Kava helps music appreciation in this context by settling my panda down some so he can choose a song, stick with it, pay attention to it, and be ready to choose something else after or just go with the flow and keep listening to the same artist/album or let the shuffle decide. This also works for DJ sets, which my panda often decides he doesn't have time to listen to, but will take the plunge sometimes if he has a nice cup of Kava near him.

On the whole - aside from indirect effects on music appreciation as mentioned above - my panda finds that kava doesn't have much effect itself on his appreciation of music.

SWIM thinks the Kava makes him appreciate a deep tune, like Underworld's Best Mamgu Ever. He gets a sense of being pulled into deep echoing--something really relaxing.

Thanks for the indepth replies all.Swim finds that being in a deep state of relaxation does tend to heighten musics effects even if the substance alone isn't one known for increasing musics pleasure.Xanax(alprazolam)is a good example of this.From watching documentaries on traditional kava use it just seemed like something that would make music more enjoyable.
