CWE mandatory???

SWIM knows oxycodone has apap mixed but is it mandatory to do CWE or would SWIM still get high by crushing and snorting it all??? There are both oxycodone 10/650 and hydrocodone 10/325 tabs.

Even if it didn't have tylenol, CWE is a good way to remove bittering agents.

I don't think it's a dumb question, swim had this same question a while ago and after reading up from several sources the general consensus is definitely a NO.

Swim has snorted some Vic's in his day and didn't really realize at the time what a bad idea it was.As we all know high amounts of tylenol can raise hell on one's liver, and snorting it would just intensify those effects greatly. Not to mention all that acetamenophin clogs up the nostrils badly and isn't all that enjoyable.

When taking them orally swiy shouldn't worry about a CWE unless swiy is popping 5+ pills at a time, but for snorting swiy most definitely should extract that acetamenophin.

If the total amount of Paracetamol (APAP) is less than 2000mg's in a single dose, then go ahead, but do not do it regularly, in fact, any more than 1500mg's and I always do a CWE.

It's your health man, APAP can do horrible things to your liver, even at seemingly moderate doses

SWIM would advise against snorting a Vicodin, especially with APAP intact. For one, SWIY will just end up with a runny nose oozing white APAP mucus. For two, APAP is crappy stuff. SWIM used to have a really bad Vicodin addiction, REALLY bad. SWIM still takes Vicodin but in a much much more controlled fashion now. SWIM has read that it is possible to build a tolerance to the liver toxic effects of APAP. SWIM attributes the fact that he is still alive to that fact. At his worse, SWIM was taking 2+ grams of APAP in a single dose and 10+ grams of APAP in a 24 hour period regularly (sometimes seven days straight). SWIM was so addicted he could not wait the short time to complete a CWE to protect his liver. SWIM has had his liver tested multiple times since then out of fear and it always comes back flawless. SWIM was very lucky. Also SWIM says the info about building a tolerance to the APAP says:

"Data suggests that some individuals who abuse very high doses of acetaminophen-containing hydrocodone products may be spared this liver toxicity if they have been chronically taking these products and have escalated their dose slowly over a long period of time."

Inadvertently, SWIM did just that sort of upwards titration. Nevertheless, SWIM would DEFINITELY NOT recommend risking SWIYour life on that preliminary info. SWIM just thinks its probably why he's still alive. SWIM thinks taking 2 grams of APAP at a time or a total of 5 grams in a day VERY SPORADICALLY is probably okay. Still, given the ease of a cold water extraction, SWIM'd think it best just to separate the poison from the bliss and go from there. SWIM says he hopes he was of help.

SWIM used to insufflate vicodin with 650MG of tylenol (APAP) in it all the time when he was younger. The worst thing that happened to him is his nose got clogged up, and the drip was disgusting. Sometimes when he'd snort more than one pill, he would have a bit of a soar throat the next day, most likely from the APAP. SWIM will still snort a norco, as it doesn't have as much APAP in it, but he definitely is through insufflating anything with more than 300mg or so of APAP.
Basically, SWIY will still feel the high from the opioids present when insufflating APAP, and it won't hurt SWIY to do it every now and then. If SWIY wants the most enjoyable buzz (aka no nasty APAP taste, burn, drip or the clogged nose), go with the CWE.

It isnt mandatory but its a damn good idea to do so for a number of reasons which were pointed out and a few others which were not pointed out.

Tylenol (acetaminophen / paracetamol) is damaging to the liver.
Tylenol will cause an ugly tasting drip in the back of the throat.
CWE provides a cleaner result and thus a cleaner hit.
CWE takes care of all the unwanted materials while leaving the good materials intact.

But the best one of all is . . .

CWE'ing makes the surface area of the drug fully exposed. When something with an APAP is snorted the APAP inhibits full mucus membrane absorption and SWIY would be missing out on most of the effects when snorted with APAP intact.

Since the APAP spread is not fully even throughout the pill (which is why it is not advised to break the pill in halves) a more controlled dosage is easier.

One can CWE a whole packet or multiple packets of vics/percs and weigh out specific dosages knowing that SWIY is being exacting in the process if one takes care.

So in closing CWE is not mandatory, especially if one is hit hard by vics/percs and it only takes one or two to do the job, but it is a damn good idea if ones lab monkey intends on snorting the result as they will be reaping all of the benefits while eliminating almost all of the risks.

(Dosage caution is always advised with opiates / opioids, know SWIYour limits. It is better to be a "little" high and slightly disappointed than be dead from OD with a silly grin on SWIyour face. SWIyou can always build up to the right dosage for SWIyou later on.)
