So if Clonidine works for Opiate WD’s what about other low blood pressure meds?
SWIM has found that Clonidine works well for taking away the hot/cold flashes that go along with Opiate WD’s, SWIM plans to stop this weekend after a pretty long binge (few mouths) with Oxycontin, SWIM has stopped before after similar streaks with OC’s and he knows he is in for some hell and sadly he only has two .01 Mg Clonidine left, which he plans to use for the first two days. SWIM has access to another low blood pressure med called Lisinopril, now he is pretty sure that this stuff is not approved for opiate WD’s, but could it have the same effect on reducing the temp spikes as Clonidine? Or could it be downright dangerous? Has anyone ever tried it, SWIM will not unless he knows it is safe first, but the sweats and chills are one of the worst symptoms to SWIM, along with the anxiety, but he has that part covered, see below…
So the good news is that SWIM has 5 8 Mg subxone, which he wants to be very careful with and taper off of, the good news is that SWIM cannot get these easily, so getting addicted to them would not really be possible, it has taken him a mouth just to save up these 5, getting 1 here and there. SWIM also has a pretty good stock pile of Benzos, including 10 Mg Diazepams, 2 Mg Xanax bars and a very good amount of 1 Mg Klonopin, with these aids he thinks it will def help. The first two days he plans to take about 4mg of subxone, or more if needed, or just take enough benzos to be numb and try to sleep the worst of it off. Either way SWIM knows what he is in for and again back to the orginal question, does anyone know if Lisinopril is safe to use?!
