Cyclogenzaprine and Dextroamphetamine?

SWIM took Cyclobenzaprine and Darvocet yesterday (but not dextro) because of sore muscles. Found out that it shouldn't be mixed with ampethamines. Started feeling weird so did drug checker and found out it shouldn't be mixed.

Does SWIY know how long muscle relaxer will stay in system. Starting to feel weird after taking the dexroamphetamine today.

Cyclobenzaprine's hl is 8 - 37 hours with n = 18.

So, in a day, SWIY should be good.

Thanks, SWIM is feeling better. A lot of medications interact with amphetamines. I found out the hard way.

That is certainly good to know. Can you elaborate on the weird feeling that it caused you?

SWIM felt like a space case. Became more paranoid than usual. Body felt light as if it could float away. SWIY could enjoy these feelings but since SWIM is paranoid all of the time is scares her.

SWIM can't mix SSRI's and stimulants, it causes some type of psychosis with adrenaline running thought the body. SWIM thought this was going to happen when mixing the muscle relaxer and stimulant.

SWIY, in particular can't mix these?

Cyclobenzaprine is not an SSRI, and doesn't appear to interact with amphetamines. As well, mixing SSRIs with amphetamine is considered to pose a moderate risk for serotonin syndrome, but they are certainly prescribed together.

Perhaps the strange feelings were an unexpected mixture of the separate effects from each medication? Or is SWIY taking an SSRI as well? I believe psychosis is related to large quantities of dopamine, did SWIY simply take too much amphetamine?

No SWIM didn't take to much amphetamine (just 20mg) and has never taken more than 50mg a day.

Currently not taking SSRI because SWIM needs the amphetamine more, due to motivation.

In the past SWIM took both, SSRI and amphetamine and had a bad reaction where adrenaline was running through the body for no reason. It would happen about every 15-20 minutes and I went to the ER.
SWIM tried mixing them again at a later date and the same thing happened. It is a very scary feeling.

SWIM is allergic to compazine and had a distonic reaction so she feels that she is sensitive to medications.

SWIM thought the same thing was going to happen after started feeling strange when realizing muscle relaxers and amphetamines were not suppose to be mixed.

Out of curiosity, which SSRI medication? Was it actually an SSNRI?

Usually doctors are careful not to prescribe similar medications that may also cause an allergic reaction... at least in my experience with an allergy to one of the most common antibiotics.

I don't know enough to say whether or not SWIY's strange reaction could've been caused by an allergy for compazine-esque medications, but I'm having difficulty in understanding the link with SSRI's...

This is what I understnad, chrnologically:
SWIY is given SSRI
SWIY is given amphetamine to supplement SSRI
SWIY has reaction and continues with just amphetamine
SWIY is prescribec cyclobenzaprine alongside amphetamine
SWIY has the same exact reaction

Is that it?

I suppose it's possible, everyone reacts differently to things, SWIY could just be a strange case, lol. If you were really on an SSNRI that might make more sense to me.

You are close but SWIM wasn't prescribed cyclogenzaprine (it was some one elses) and the reactions were different.

SWIM was given Prozac
Then given Adderall after 3 months on Prozac.
Then about two weeks on Adderall started feeling real strange.
Then within a week the adrenaline started running through body... Went to hospital.

About 3 months after this episode started taking Celexa (SSRI) with Adderall and about the 7th day on it SWIM started feeling the adrenaline run through body again. Stopped Celexa immediately.

SWIM has taken 150 mg of Wellbutrin, which is an SSNRI along with Adderall and doesn't have any problems except irritation?

It is very strange because I have read tons of posts where people take SSRI's with Adderall and don't have any side affects.

This sounds strange, and questionably a drug interaction... how long had SWIY been on Prozac when Adderall was started? This isn't an uncommon combination. I think prozac has some affinity for norapenephrine but it's been a while, so I'm not sure.

I'm not familiar with Celexa, but I thought SSRI's took more than a week to reach a stable drug level...

Wellbutrin is a (N?)DRI, not an SSRI, and I think mixing this with adderall would largely increase the risk of seizures, if not have other obvious interactions... I don't imagine adrenaline is indeed the culprit if irritability is the only problem with this mixture...

SWIM was on Prozac for 3 months when given Adderall. Celexa is basically the same thing.

I believe this may have to do with some type of panic disorder. SWIM got drunk a few days ago and took 40mg of Adderall throughout the day. The next day SWIM had that adrenaline feeling again. Very strange and thinking that not much can be mixed with Adderall because SWIM just can't handle drug combinations. Adderall must cause hyper sensitivity or something like that.
