I just found another clip from the documentary, which astounded me - in a 1993 interview, an ex head of the DEA claimed that large volumes of cocaine were smuggled into America with the help of the CIA

It's being aired on Showtime (if you're in the US).

And yes, WTF? The documentary also claims that the CIA did it to help fund the Iran Contra scandal during the Reagan administration. The drug money went directly to the anti-Sandinista rebels, the Contras, in Nicaragua.

This is nothing new and the CIA were responsible for smuggling in large quantities of heroin during the Vietnam war using the body bags of dead servicemen......or so the story goes. No smoke without fire or conspiracy theorists wishful thinking? Make your own minds up.

I got my copy in (a few actually - I'm farming 'em out). It is excellent. Scathing indictment of the US government right up to today.
