Opinions - At a rave: coke or ecstasy?

swim needs some advice. swim is going to his first rave on friday, and plans to either do coke (depending on how much money he has, either .5g or 1g) or ecstasy (probably 2 or 3 pills for a 6 hour rave). Swim has heard E is the most popular rave/club drug, but at the same time, it's swim's first time doing it and first time going to a rave, and is worried it might me too much. However, for swim coke is subtle and swim is still able to function perfectly normal. swim's friend is planning on doing coke that night, which makes swim want to do it. Buuuut then there's the problem of having to go to the bathroom stalls whenever swim wants to cut up a line, which is kinda sketchy.

Swim is thinking about taking an E pill before the event so he can determine whether he'd like it at a rave, but would that kill the magic of doing it for the first time at an exciting event?

I feel like a word is missing there but my friend has this to say about SWIY's situation.

For a rave ecstasy is the way to go. One well-reputed pill or two mediocre ones will last you for the entire rave no problem. SWIY will still have an amazing first time ecstasy experience and will be able to feel everything one could expect in an environment where SWIY would just be able to enjoy the ecstasy. Most other people won't pay too much attention to the state of other people and will generally expect people to be on something. if SWIY is worried about not absorbing the full ecstasy experience consider this: raves are geared toward creating amazing experiences while on a substance, MDMA in particular. Bright flashing lights, fast music with pounding bass, friendly people that are open and accepting, all of these factors will actually heighten the experience instead of diminishing. my friend has brought many people who roll for their first time at their first rave and no one ever complains.

The first time SWIM did both coke and E he was at two different raves.

In swims mind you really can't go wrong either way, swims first E rave experience was amazing. Hundreds of people dancing and having incredible fun, it really makes you understand techno.

Then again when on coke dancing was incredibly fun for swim, he made tons of friends and had a hell of a good time.

If I was SWIY, I would try and convince my friend to roll with me, trying to do lines of coke in bathrooms is a real pain in the ass. Start with one pill of E and see how you feel, wait for it to hit you before you take more. Having a good friend, or even a not so good friend is always fun while on E.

Swim is sure you will have a good time at a rave on E, can't imagine anyone not.

SWIM would definitely have to say E - without a doubt. However, since it will be SWIY's first time, there is something to be aware of and cautious of - the high probability of the sudden urge to vomit uncontrollably once the E takes affect.

In the beginning (when SWIM was a novice), it never failed and SWIM had quite a few unpleasant and embarrassing episodes where out of nowhere, SWIM just yakked everywhere - no warning - no controlling it - and of course, no time to make it to a "safe" place. It happens sometimes even now, depending on how strong the pills are - so just some friendly advice - be sure SWIY is either close to a bathroom or a private area just in case. It might not happen, but in SWIM's experience, it's better to be safe than sorry. Not to fear though if it does, and once it's over, SWIY should be more than fine and having a grand ol' time!

SWIM agrees, the one time it happened it was his first roll. From anecdotal experience, throwing up is a good sign.

Something about this statement doesn't seem quite right...

Nausea and vomiting are side effects of MDMA use for some people, but it's not exactly a "good sign". My suggestion for any of the swimmers out there who vomit while rolling is obviously to take it easy for a while. If they've been dancing for hours without drinking any liquids in a hot environment, such as a rave (P.S. Don't Do This!!), then they need to sit down, cool off, and get some fluids in them. If they've been drinking too much water with little physical exertion (P.S. Don't Do This!!) then stop drinking water and eat something salty. SWIY should always try to keep their body in a comfortable state (or as comfortable as possible) when using MDMA. If they haven't already, SWIY should look over the forum and do some research on MDMA before ingesting it for the first time.

After the ingestion of ecstasy or MDMA, from every report from friends and fellow ravers my friend tells me that each time someone has thrown up it has been a sign that things are just about to begin and be strong for the chemical experience.

SWIM would go for E. Coke doesn't last long enough for him, and at a rave/club coke can sometimes be difficult to take. E is much easier to take in any scenario.

No, don't do both, especially if this is SWIY's first time trying ecstasy. It puts extra strain on the heart and increases the chance of negative complications.

And yes, some people experience nausea and vomiting after ingesting MDMA. But as I mentioned before, vomiting is still not necessarily a "good thing". The fact that SWIY's friends vomited before the effects kicked in obviously doesn't make vomiting a sign that they have good pills or anything. Some people experience this side effect and move on because it may be just that: a side effect. However, if someone is rolling and they vomit because of certain contributing factors (such as the ones mentioned in my original post), they should obviously be taking it easy for a while.

Swim would say E without a doubt. However - Swim would recommend that Swiy do it with a close friend that you feel comfortable with. It makes things much better! At least Swim thinks so!

MDMA...

longer duration, and everyone at raves are rolling. MDMA is just the general rave drug, it fits right into a rave in terms of fast music, lights etc.

Help SWIM out here, but SWIM did ketamine only once and totally fucked her up - it was only a bump, yet SWIM thought she was going to die and it was most horrible trip ever. SWIM's heard this is called the "K- hole" - ok fine, but how often does it happen and was SWIM's experience exceptional only because it was her first time?

How about some crank? Meth (n also heroine) is where it's at! shiy should rail some meth and then drop some e before the rave for the best night of swiy's life EVER! And also remember, meth is a great aid for the ladies and ultimately, anal sex: Spice up the night with your significant someone. Everyone should do meth at least once... for the rave, yes, do pills. coke is better for normal clubs and parties or just talking with friends. different drugs for different environments. but swim certainly doesnt find it to be a major hassle to go to bathroom to snort every 30 minutes. just break up and powderize the product before going out for the night. do key bumps in the bathroom. no worries at all. don't mess around with lines in a club, just dig into the baggie with a key and hoover that shit.

SWIM says that he feels SWIY will appreciate the entire rave experience "mo bettah" if SWIY were to stick with E(and wait to take it on the way). SWIM says that with the combination of the music and atmosphere, SWIY's E experience will be enhanced and if SWIY is lucky enough to get great E, all the better.

As for doing both, SWIM does not suggest this at all. In fact SWIM says that in his experience that cocaine seems to cancel out the E quite a bit. To SWIM this always seemed like a waste. Save SWIY's coke for the comedown and chill in the privacy of SWIY's own home(no need to be bumping rails in a trashy stall).
