Species of Morning Glory
Having read a lot of these forums, SWIM can't remember stumbling upon a mention of whether a specific subspecies of Morning Glory seeds are needed - whether the seeds of all subspecies contain LSA.
Not being a botanist, SWIM tends to think that Morning Glory is Morning Glory and that's that... it's only the different colors that vary from the subspecies to subspecies. Still, not being entirely sure of how plants work, SWIM decided to ask.
He knows that the Heavenly Blue variety is a safe bet, but after browsing his local store for them, he couldn't find it.
He did find:
Tropical white morning-glory (Ipomoea noctiflora)
Japanese morning-glory (Ipomoea nil)
Tall morning-glory (Ipomoea purpurea)
and one that SWIM found particularly amusing:
Tall Morning Glory "Split Personality" (Ipomoea purpurea (pharbitis)) - apparently a mix.
There were also mixed seedpackets that included Heavenly Blues, but having no way to differentiate (and not wanting to go through the laborious effort, if he did) between one or the other, he didn't see a point in those.
Basically, if any MG variety goes - it's gonna be a happy day for humanity.
