Is ketamine a date rape drug? A story
This story caught my attention because it's a case where ketamine in combination with sleeping pills was actually used as a date rape drug. It's obviously not a very good one if sleeping pills are also needed!

In order to please her boyfriend, a married woman repeatedly took part in threesomes and allowed their sexual activities to be photographed or filmed, the High Court was told yesterday.
The boyfriend, Danny Chan Tsun- tao, 45, is charged with raping a close friend of his girlfriend, one count of attempting non-consensual buggery and three counts of procuring unlawful sex. Chan, a driver, has denied all charges.
The girlfriend, 32, last Friday pleaded guilty to one count of assisting rape and three counts of procuring unlawful sex by false pretenses.
Deputy High Court Judge Gareth Lugar-Mawson adjourned sentencing pending the outcome of Chan's trial.
The woman was married in 2000 but began an extra-marital affair the same year with Chan, who is also married, the court was told.
To make Chan happy, she had his name tattooed above her private parts.
The pair also took video films and photographs of themselves having sex.
In late 2006, Chan made two propositions to the woman - the first was that she have sex with other men in front of him, and the second that she find some women with whom he could have sex.
In 2006, the pair went to Shenzhen and engaged in a threesome with a masseuse during which Chan used his mobile phone to film them, according to the opening statement read out in court yesterday.
After that, Chan repeated his request for the woman to find other women for him.
The woman and the alleged victim used to be good friends.
The prosecution alleges that both Chan and the woman set a trap to lure the alleged victim to the woman's flat in Tuen Mun.
On January 8 last year, the woman told her doctor she was suffering from insomnia in order to collect sleeping pills, while Chan procured a quantity of ketamine.
The alleged victim accepted an invitation to visit the woman on January 13.
Upon entering the flat, the alleged victim took a bath with the woman - and was secretly filmed with a hidden camera in the bathroom.
The alleged victim was later offered some wine laced with ketamine and sleeping pills. She fell unconscious after drinking the wine.
When she awoke, she found herself in bed with both the woman and Chan, who were naked. She believed she had been raped.
A few days later, the woman phoned the alleged victim and told her that what had happened on that day was fun and suggested they do it again. The alleged victim rejected her suggestion.
On January 23, the woman phoned her again and said they had an audio recording in which she had made moaning sounds when the three were having sex.
The pair used the recording to put pressure on the alleged victim to repeatedly return to the flat and have sex to satisfy Chan.
Chan and the woman continued to tell the alleged victim she would be given the audio and video recordings if she kept going back to have sex.
The alleged victim visited the flat for the last time on April 14. It was then she was told Chan would not return the recordings.
The hearing continues today.
