Swim Is Stuck In A Bad Situation
Hey everyone,
Swim just recently left rehab due to overdosing on pills, but has stumbled upon a rather difficult situation. A few weeks ago, swim re-threw out his bad shoulder that swim had previously tore a muscle in. Swim went to a doctor to start up physical therapy again, but the problem is that swim is in an extreme amount of pain and he is unable to get any painkillers that are addicting. Swim was wondering if there is any painkillers, besides over-the-counter ones, that can successfully take away the pain without becoming too addicting? All help is appreciated |

Re: Swim Is Stuck In A Bad Situation
Tramadol is an effective painkiller which combines opioid and non-opioid analgesic mechanisms. Physicians are much more likely to prescribe this, as it is considered "non-narcotic" and is not scheduled.

Re: Swim Is Stuck In A Bad Situation
Thanks for the help. Swim will discuss Tramadol with his parents and see how it goes from there.

Re: Swim Is Stuck In A Bad Situation
Also (I know Suboxone is not indicated for pain), but some people manage to get a full weeks of mild/moderate pain releife by carefully breaking apart, and using one 8/2mg Suboxone pill (sublingually). Remember, just one of em is roughly equivalent to 40 Temgesic (buprenorphine).

Re: Swim Is Stuck In A Bad Situation
If the Tramadol doesn't work out with your doctor, you could try some Aleve from your local drug store. It is probably the strongest OTC pain reliever in the states.
Of course since your injury is likely muscular, your doctor should prescribe you some muscle relaxants like Soma (carisoprodol) or skelaxin, etc. They can be effective for pain as well. |

Re: Swim Is Stuck In A Bad Situation
depending on where swiy lives, there may be a codeine/caffeine/asa mix available otc that swiy could filter the asa from (via cold water extraction et al.) enough to get a dose of codeine that's able to kill pain- might be worth asking at swiyour local pharmacy

Re: Swim Is Stuck In A Bad Situation
one other option I hadn't thought about before is kratom-- a pain killing entheogen (works on opioid receptors if I'm not mistaken) available at a lot of sites that sell natural herbal products, swiy might wanna look into it if the more easily accessible options other posters mentioned don't work out
