SWIM recently began taking a small amount of nootropic chemicals. He has noticed a pronounced variation on his DMT experiences with nootropics in his body. He has a definite interest in hearing about any other experiences involving a regimen or specific chemical and subjective alterations of the DMT experience.
This came up due to his recent usage of Hydergine (ergoloid mesylates). He has a high sensitivity for this substance and had used it at a very low dose (approx 1mg/day) for a week or so prior to smoking a small hit of DMT.
The buzz kicked in, tinnitus began and he closed his eyes to appreciate the visuals but instead he got a bunch of visual "fuzz" rather than distinct geometric shapes and patters. He usually gets a full 3d tapestry behind closed eyes but he got colored patterns much closer to 2d television static. He did not feel any pain but part of his mind said that he should certainly avoid this combination in the future. At one point a "window" opened containing "white tv snow" type fuzz in the periphery of his closed eye vision. When he opened his eyes he saw the usual "flowing" and movement of objects and felt fine but did not particularly enjoy this experience. He will not attempt a breakthrough dose while taking Hydergine due to the strangeness of this experience. He felt like the Hydergine "grounded" his brain, a perfectly good thing and the reason he likes it, as it seems to heal and strengthen his cognition and mood, but he intends in the future to give a week or so to clear this Nootropic from his system prior to another DMT trip.
He also had a brief combination with Piracetam wherein the DMT visuals showed up much crisper and sharper with more definition and intensity within a few hours of oral ingestion of the piracetam. He has since ceased using piracetam but would recommend that combination.
