Bleeding into pods ?

Hi,

SWIM was curios, When harvesting latex farmers score the surface to a depth of 1mm roughly and never into the seed chamber if it can be helped. The reason for this as swim understands it is because the latex will run into the chamber. Now swim thinks this a good idea as after a few times of doing this there should be a good amount of latex collected in the chamber. Would this not be helpful in collecting opium and could one not simply pull the seeds out (with opium) and do a CFO TEK on the seeds and not have to go through the collection process. Swim is aware of the rain factor but this seems like a good idea to him. Any ideas?

good question. SWIM has never though of it like that. Do not know the answer though and possible pod rot may be a factor but other than that SWIM cannot see anything wrong with this theoretical technique.

is it hard to cut pods? and will SWIM lose all of his O if he cuts too deep. Is there a turtorial on how to cut pods haha.SWIM will check the tube

It is not hard. SWIM now prefers to use anothers method which was suggested and that is to use pin pricks . . .

HOWEVER . . . .

SWIMs friend during his last season used a slightly different technique which proved to be invaluable knowledge and intends on doing this himself because it gives EXACT measurement on depth. The answer is right there with people whom have ink on their body. As usual the best ideas are always right in front of SWIyou.

A tattoo gun.

Thats right, a tattoo gun. He runs it of a small converted power supply which uses a small 12v battery in a bum bag. SWIMs friend bought one from a popular auction site rather cheaply and adjusted the needle and tube so that he was cutting EXACTLY 2mm each time. This depth may have to be adjusted for other strains.

The way to adjust is to find the point at which SWIyou breach the pod wall and come back half of that.

After that it is just a matter of ZZZT ZZZT ZZZT ZZZT ZZZT ZZZZT ZZZT up each pod one face at a time (imagine the pod as a cube rather than an orb) so that consecutive bleeding can still be performed. By the time SWIyou get around to the original face (5th day bleed obviously) it will have healed enough to start all over again. Try not to run the lines down lines SWIyou have already done though.

The reason for running it up the pod rather than down the pod is to stop any bleed from contaminating the needle AND loosing bleed as a result of such. (stops the pod from bleeding ONTO the needle basically).
