Re: Brain Damage
LSD is generally considered to be non-toxic and does not damage the brain in a physical sense. However, it is a powerful psychedelic substance, and like all powerful psychedelics, it has the ability to produce life-changing experiences and allows you to view the world in a different light. These views can be carried on well after the experience is over.

Re: Brain Damage
LSD is never laced with strychnine, that's a widely circulated urban myth. Call me crazy, but I think killing your customers would be bad business ethics. And no, eating strychnine is not even remotely safe (consuming poisonous material isn't generally recommended by the medical community).

Re: Brain Damage
It's not that it happens rarely, it's that it just doesn't happen at all. Strychnine poisoning causes extreme muscle spasms and paralysis of the neural pathways that control breathing, resulting in death by asphyxiation. It's not a psychoactive drug, it's a poison.
Little off-topic, but just out of pure curiosity, why does SWIY think their LSD contained strychnine? Last edited by Powder_Reality; 01-03-2008 at 02:37. |

Re: Brain Damage
Has SWIY ever considered that maybe they were just having a panic attack? Trembling and shaking is a common symptom of panic attacks. Anxiety and panic is a powerful thing, and it can create physical symptoms.

Re: Brain Damage
There aren't many people in the world making LSD compared to something like meth or cocaine, and when they do, they tend to create vast quantities of it, as it is cheap to make hundreds of thousands of individual hits from one batch of raw materials. These people are (they have to be) qualified and highly trained organic chemists with years of experience, access to a list of watched and extremely hard to obtain chemicals AND a laboratory brimming with hard to find and expensive equipment, and they are most certainly NOT small time dealers cooking stuff up in their sheds.
These people have no incentives and no reasons to lace their product with strychnine or anything else, and thousands of reasons not to. Plus, I doubt it is possible to fit an instantly lethal dose of strychnine on a 1cm by 1cm piece of blotter (could be wrong on this though). |

Re: Brain Damage
this is true swims still not completely sure be cause of the physical effects of the trip and what a (experienced)teacher and a docter think ended up with some damage to the nuerons in swim due to multiple occasions when swims lost the complete use of his leg. swim tried to get out of a chair once and fell onto the floor. swims legs wernt numb they had no feeling what so ever. like they were pointless limbs

Re: Brain Damage
Panic attacks can cause the repeated tensing of muscles. I really don't know what else to tell SWIY. I've shared all my knowledge on the subject and SWIY seems pretty determined to convince themselves that they suffered from strychnine poisoning. This has gotten pretty far off-topic since the original post, so I'm just going to leave it at that.

Re: Brain Damage
How the fuck did I miss this one? LSD causes brain damage? LSD with strychnine?
How have I had no "report post" messages? This is myth making and rumour-mongering of a dangerous kind, and covered MANY times before |
