Freebase Ritalin Crystals?

Please excuse SWIM's lack of knowledge and "newbie" like question.

SWIM has tried a few days ago mixing 1 part 10mg ritalin with 1 part baking soda, putting it on a tinfoil sheet, adding water and mixing it around in a circle. Then SWIM would let it dry, and smoke it. This caused SWIM to feel a very intense Ritalin High like speed with less Ritalin needed. It was very nice. Not even close to the feeling of crack but still very nice.

SWIM's quesiton is can you make Ritalin/Baking Soda crystals like you can with Crack? (The spoon method?). Does the chemical reaction work the same and then SIWM would be able to scoop out the crystals and smoke from a pipe (instead of a tin foil sheet), or would this not work.

Please no comments on health concerns, how stupid it is to smoke ritalin, etc.

well swim would have to say it works, but thats just based on swiy saying he tried it and got effects from it. if swiy meant can you form actual crystals, swim is unsure.

Melting Point Of MPH (Ritalin) Anyone?

SWIM Believes this is a possibility, he himself tried something similar once, intense high, bloodshot eyes, very short lived.

Whether or not it is possible to freebase MPH is a paramount question here.

It may be the case that the HCl is more efficient than the freebase for smoking.

Fillers pose an obstacle that needs more attention to get the full picture.

Overall SWIY is probably receiving some amount of MPH to get the effects mentioned

It would seem that nobody has posted much about Freebase MPH which shall be from here fourth dubbed "Kiddie Crack".

This would suggest it may have been tried and failed in the past therefore not worth posting.

decomposition of MPH under heat could be a likely suspect for abandoning this route of admin, that's why freebasing would be the next logical step.

but even then the melting point may be to low to be efficient.

SWIM feels the jury is still out on this until more information is gathered.

Who says ritalin needs to be in freebase form in order to smoke it?

(Meth)amphetamine is very smokable in its HCl form, and is rarely found in freebase on the streets.

I know ritalin is very different from meth but swiy could be wasting time trying to convert it.

working on this one myself as well. This is what I found on the Melting Point:
Boiling Point: 135-137° C Melting Point of Ritalin HCl crystals: 224-226° C

So SWIY could disolve the Ritalin HCl in water. Filter it, and allot of the fillers will stay in the filter. And then boil the water so you only have HCl crystals left?

Altough there will still be allot of other ingredients in the pills that would also dissolve in water.

So SWIY could try an everclear extraction? The HCl will dissolve in the everclear (ethyl alcohol) but allot of the other ingridients wont. Then leave it to dry.



So:
1) Dissolve some pills in everclear.
2) Filter
3) Let the everclear (ethyl alcohol) evaporate
4) Dissolve the pretty clean HCl in water
5) Filter
6) Let the water evaporate (maybe SWIY could boil it)

SWIM would not do step 6, he would just put the filtered HCl-Water solution in a nasal container.

Information:

Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose –
• slightly soluble in coldwater
• Insoluble in ethanol
• Insoluble in warm water

Talc USP
• Insoluble in water
• Insoluble in ethanol

Magnesium Stearate
• Insoluble in water

Microcrystalline Cellulose NF
• Insoluble in water



So SWIY should do this:

1) Crush up the tablets
2) Mix them into a small amount of warm distilled H20
3) Filter
4) Evaporate the water

Next are optional:
5) Dissolve in ethanol (also called ethyl alcohol, pure alcohol)
6) Filter
7) Evaporate the ethanol

SWIM thinks the last steps are optionol because there would only be a small amount of Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose left with the MethylphenidateHCl.

Has swim actually tried this? Or is swim just throwing this out there? Swim's are just taking methods from other extractions and bringing it to this one. Symm has been reading all these methods but they just sound like tests. Separating some of the fillers is the way to go but it doesn't sound like swim's are accomplishing that here.

Has there been any updates on a better method... one tried and true?

Lurker chiming in here because SWIM has first hand experience with some of this.

SWIM crushes the rit tabs as fine as possible, mixes them into Everclear (as suggested above), stirs constantly for a few mins, then filters the mix through cloth or a coffee filter into a flat glass container. SWIM then rinses the remaining sediment with more Everclear in effort to maximize. SWIM leaves it overnight to dry and scrapes up whats left the next day.

SWIM hasnt tried to cook it/freebase it, but can tell you with all certainty this method removes the vast majority of the fillers. This makes it much easier (and far more pleasant) to nose or vein.

SWIM disagrees with previous posts, SWIM feels a jones and crashes, tho it is surely not as severe as coke or crack. SWIM suggests popping a xanax an hour or so into use to minimize pain on the way down.

So if the boiling point is 35C higher than water, then boiling a solution containing MPH wouldn't damage it, correct?

Also, what are the solubilities of MPH in water at 100C, and say about 10C? If there was enough difference, SWIY could dissolve as much MPH in boiling water as possible, then stick the water in the freezer and the MPH would form crystals as the temperature drops, as the water would no longer be able to hold all of the MPH. After harvesting the crystals SWIY could then evaporate the rest of the water to recover the MPH still in the water, in a non crystalline form.
