after evaporation of the decalin under reduced pressure,the residue(ketamine) is extracted with dilute hydrochloric acid. my question is how to use dilute hydrochloric acid to extracted the ketamine and the next step will be(describe in detaill)? |

mix it with some dilute HCL (this is a fancy word, right? extracted)

so after mixing it you would have 2 separate layerswith the hcl / ketamine layer being on top?? wouldn't you just mix it for a while then centirfuge it and transfer that top layer......

So: evaporation of the decalin under reduced press./ the residue: means that there is no other solvent left, just mix the RESIDUE (w/o any solvent left b/c it was removed under reduced pressure) with dilute HCL. sounds pretty simple, if there is a layer it is stuff that doesn't go into solution in HCL............................... |
