DMT; Ego is lost -why is experience necissary in that case?

Ok SWIM was considering the idea that on DMT the ego fo an individual is absolutly destroyed (That is that all sense of self is gone, in freudian psychology the only major parts of the mind that would be in capacity within the moments of the trip would be the superego and the id). So, following these lines, SWIM began to think, as all sense of self is destroyed, why would previous psychadelic experience be necissary before one takes a DMT hit? because if we take into account that all sense of self is destroyed, then all memories may seem distant and someone elses thoughts, therefor unnaffecting the individual. SWIM understands thast the ego may not be destroyed or completly broken for this period of time, and that it may revert to the subconscious as a mechanism for defense, but the question still remains then, why is previous experience necissary? (SWIM has had psychadelic experience, but he has just been curious as to why as whenever he answers it for himself, he symeltaniously contradicts his answer)
