Activated Carbon CFO

Swim has a large container of activated carbon for aquarium filters. Could this be used to further purify his filtered CPS tea? The tea has already been filtered through 5 stacked coffee filters. If this is advisable, would swim just add several grams of carbon to his tea and then filter it off after agitating for a while?

I have no idea, but I'd guess the carbon might take out something you don't want it to. Curious though...

Yea, swim knows activated carbon absorbs caffeine which is an alkaloid, but ac. carbon is also used to purify crude morphine base so swim wonders if it would be useful.

Unsure. one knows (as swiyou have mentioned) that activated charcoal absorbs some different structures but not others. It seems that it doesnt absorb morphine but one is not sure how it reats the the other alkaloids in the tea. One can only try it and see swim guesses.

The posted "DEA Report" suggests crude morphine base, and later, heroin, can be further purified by dissolution in hot water and filtered with activated carbon (activated charcoal).

Yea they are the same thing, and by doing the above technique one can come out with a cleaner product. SWIM made some today using this as part of the CFO steps and let his friend have it as it is of no use to SWIM at the moment. The friend reported that it "tasted" cleaner and also melted better.

SWIM will report soon on just how he incorporated this activated charcoal step into the CFO procedure and the reason why he chose to do it the way he did it.
