Types of Heroin

Swim has done heroin a good amount of times but is still fairly new, he sees things other swiy's say like number 4 heroin and other numbers. Swim has had off white heroin and sandy brown heroin but what do the numbers mean? Sorry if the question is kinda dumb or if it was brought up previously.
