Recently when I purchased some poppy pods, the vendor included about 2 grams of what is labeled "wormwood extract resin". What is the best way to make use of this? It is almost like a stale gummy bear feel with a dark brown/yellowish sheen. Is it best to be smoked? Mixed with some weed? I am interested to try this, but am not sure what angle to take.

I received the same thing recently. This resin was added to a small amount ofgin until it dissolvedand thenjuice was addedwith sugar... made absinthe style. Avery minor raise in awarenesswas noticed for about 10 minutes. These effects where different from the alcohol. It was a waste of time IMO. I plan to make some real absinthe from scratchsoon sohopefully that will be nice.

I smoked it mixed in with weed. At first it gave everybody more energy,
but eventually we all passed out for about two hours. If you look in
Legal Highs it lists the affects as "sedative".

what you're speaking is called thujone. well a crude example of it.

wormwood is the main phsycodelic ingredient of Absinthe. which is great, but causes madness suposedly. thjujone, which is extracted wormwood, is known to cause a mild phsycodelic buzz and also be very sedating. also, it has been known to alter the way marijuana effects you... for months sometimes. i've had a few friends make some clean thujone extractions and for the most part, not much of effects. out of the 15 tests done by my friends there was 11 times that no immidiate effects were notice (other than sedation,) there were 2 "flip-outs" where two seperate people literally become very confused and violent. and the other two enjoyed a rather "smooth" mild disasociative buzz.

of the 15 tests done, by 13 people total, 8 of the 13 didn't seem to get as euphoric of effects on marijuana after smoking thujone. this lasted from 1 month to 4 months for 7 of the 8 people and ongoing for 2 years now for 1 of the people.

I personally enjoy the effects of marijuana, and don't like absinthe anyway. really have no interest in smoking something that may change the effects of marijuana for me.

just some info to think about. been meaning to post this test up on this forum for a while. lol

Re: Wormwood resin

Swim had some wormwood extract in a liquid tincture. He make some makeshift absinthe with it n smoked some opium. It was really nice. Swim did however feel great bounds of energy shortly after taking the drink, and felt the insatiable need to giggle, sort of like how a strong mushroom trip or salvia can make one do. He noticed it being slightly dissociative, but sedative at a later time. He smoked weed about an hour later n got high just fine. I wonder if the weed needs to be smoked while thujone intoxication is taking place for this effect to happen.

Re: Wormwood resin

you may dissolve it into aniseed flavour alcoholic drink (pastis,pernod..) to get something which would have effects similar to absinth but lighter (as absinthe effect is not only caused by thujone from wormwood but also by many other actives from many many plants which are used in the absinthe making, notably fennel, hyssop, lemon balm, dill...)
The problem is that worwood (and extract) is incredibly bitter (disssgusting!), so will be the obtained alcohol (unless you distillate it, which process allows to keep the actives from the plant and remove bitter principles).
Of course, if you choose to go for distillation, don't add only the extract to the aniseed alcohol, also add all of the others absinthe ingredients (many spices and aromatics) and then distillate to get a really potent absinth (note that if you add all ingredients, you will HAVE TO distillate cause if you don't, not only the taste will be awful but it will also be toxic as distillation also remove some of the toxics from the plants).

You can choose to sawallow the extract (put into gellcap) for simple relaxing effect.

Or you can spread a very thin layer of the extract over rolling paper and use it to roll a relaxing tobacco cigarette (weed or hashish might be added of course but it's also nice with tobacco only: simple relaxation with no high nor stone feeling).
