cephalexin and weed--help would be MUCH appreciated
SWIM has a best friend who is interested in trying marijuana. a while back, SWIM's friend has had an allergic reaction to being around the smoke, and therefore ruled out trying it for himself. but recently, SWIM's friend was around some friends smoking and noticed that he didn't have any reaction.
SWIM's friend told SWIM that the adverse reaction he had to the smoke when he was younger was very similar to the reaction he had to the medication cephalexin. and included a rash with hives and a restricted airway.
SWIM tried to find information about possible similarities between marijuana and cephalexin, but was relatively unsuccessful. does anyone here know of any comonalities between the two?
after some research, SWIM found that:
1) many people who have allergic reactions to weed may only be allergic to some kinds of mold that can grow on the buds or that can grow on the piece used to smoke the weed. since cephalexin is derived from a mold, SWIM suspects that this might be the case. what is the best way to minimize the growth of these types of mold?
2) it's possible to be allergic to the smoke but not marijuana. SWIM reccomended that her friend try rubbing some bud on his arm to see if he gets a reaction from the plant itself. if SWIM's friend doesn't have a reaction there, is it safe to assume that he is only allergic to the smoke and therefore could probably ingest it with brownies and have no problem?
SWIM is helping him research and carefully experiment to make sure SWIM's friend stays safe and hopefully, finds a way to experience this drug. SWIM and her friend realize this is potentially dangerous, but SWIM's friend seems determined. SWIM loves her friend and doesn't want anything bad to happen to him, so any knowledge that you guys can give is much appreciated!
