Hello and im sorry for such a crap first post... but I was wondering if anyone could tell me what went wrong. A week ago a friend gave to me some Cannabis Chocolate cake as I suffer from arthritis of the lower spine... after eating this slice of cake I was able to sit through a film without any of the usual pains. I then asked her if she could get me some Cannabis so I could make my own cake.

She gave me a little bag saying it was an 1 eigth? it was dried and had stems and buds some were fluffy I grounded all this down and popped it in a chocolate cake mixture. After making the mixture... I licked the bowl out like you do when you little and I had two squares of cake when it was cooked this was between the hours of 6-7pm at about 8 I started to laugh alot! then I started to get extremely heady/my head had like bubbles popping in itand dizzy with a pain at the lower back of my head to the right started to feel sick and my heart was banging out of my chest uncontrolably... i was paniking so much I called 999. The ambulance came and they shone a light into my eyes which cause the worst pain in my head where the pressure was already. I was took to recuss where my heart rate was erratic and my blood pressure was going from high to low.. I still had this pressure in the back of my head and my heart hurt lots with pain going into my right arm and had with tingles and everything. I though I could hear conversations at the hospital but was imagining this and I started to hallucinate seeing things that were not there... I honestly thought I was going to die. Today I feel weird and heady with same low pressure pain in my head.... has anyone had these feelings before... does anyone have any idea what happend???

Thanks Deb x

You're not supposed to put the weed straight into the cake. You're supposed to fry it in butter, and then use the butter to make a cake.

I don't know what caused this effect though.

I had the same symptoms on saturday night when I smoked pot. I had taken cold pills during the day and that is what people said was the problem. My heart hurt so bad and I was hallucinating too. I know how horrible you felt. I thought I was going to die too.

I had taken no other pills that day.I would have never thought that cannabis could do this... I thought it was a soft chill out drug... but its the worst thing I have ever took. Even loaded up with E'sin a week long holiday in Ibiza... I dsid not feel this bad. Yesterday I felt like death... today I am having the worst panic attacks and every part of my body hurts like hell. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing.

If you're new to marijuana an eigth would be too much for a high.
Although you ate it, without cooking in butter or anything... so I
don't know. Could be allergic to it perhaps? Very strange indeed.

Eating produces more intense and longer lasting highs. Weed is normally simmered in oil or butter prior to cooking so that you do not need to put the weed into it. But i know people who will simmer their weed, and then put the weed into the cake anyways. Speaking of this i have to go to my friends house to get a piece of "special cake".

Try to eat only a square, because remember you can always eat more, but never less. and in the UK the emergency # is 999? that's interesting in the states the number is 911.

Any chance it might have been laced? Sounds like it may have been.

If so my guess would be embalming fluid(formaldehyde). Also PCP or cocaine.

Also ask your friend about how he obtained it originally. In some areas
its common for "street dealers" to sell what they call "wet".

Did they do a urine screen at ER? How were your symptoms treated, with
benzo's or an antipsychotic? Depending on which you were treated with
it may account for the anxiety the next day.

IMO it was definetly laced. An overdose of weed alone wouldn't cause a lot of pain. Also, an 1/8 was way too much, especially if you don't have any tolerance.

Not necissarily. It could have been caused by panic. Extreme panic tends to cause your heart to beat real fast. Next time take less and remember to stay clam. Most likely it had some pcp in it though.

Yeah, fear and anxiety tend to have a snowballing effect...the first
time you do a new drug, if something "bad" happens, you tend to get
extremely nervous/scared, and it is possible to make up things in your
head, such as pain, etc. I am not saying that you are a liar, but
definitely have a babysitter the next time you try something you are
unaccustomed to. They will calm you down, and you will not have
to risk calling any authorities. Hope you feel better.
