Tramadol, Flexeril, Percoset, Darvacet

Swim is hoping that someone here can tell her about the risks involved in mixing these drugs.

Swim takes 200-300 mg each day of tramadol, as well as 30-40 mg each day of flexeril. She is wondering if it would be safe to take a percoset or a darvacet along with these from time to time, when swims pain is worse than usual. She is scared to mix things, but sometimes a little extra relief would be very nice.

Thanks for any help!

Re: Tramadol, Flexeril, Percoset, Darvacet

Swim has been taking pain medications of lots of types over the past few years for health reasons. She doesnt want to take a recreational amount, just a normal dose for pain, but not if these types can not be used together. The percoset and darvacet are older prescriptions, left overs. swim can tolerate more than most people can.

Re: Tramadol, Flexeril, Percoset, Darvacet

either drug taken as directed shouldn't be a problem. tramadol is a very weak opioid, darvocet is about one step up, and the percocet (oxycodone) is about three steps up. if the darvocet provides sufficient pain relief at the prescribed dose, SWIM reccomends SWIY stick with the darvocet. the percocet would probably be just as safe, however, it poses a much greater risk for dependency than the others.

Re: Tramadol, Flexeril, Percoset, Darvacet

Thanks. Swim isnt worried about becoming addicted, she just worries about mixing the wrong stuff together. Thanks for the answers!
