Combinations - Drug like experiences from household possesions?

Swim wonders if anyone out there has ever ran into anything and decided to take lots of them and got some effect or mixed any two or more things and experienced some effects.

normally SWIM wouldnt find such things amusing, but thats pretty damn funny. LOL. And also the exact type of problem paracelsus was talking about, some kids are actually stupid enough to do stuff like that. This is how "chroming" came about. Kids gettin high of chrome or gold pray paint. works with other spray paints too apparently but not as good. The aboriginals sniff petrol in australia, the ones ive spoken to say that it is very euphoric. but it is things like this which gets me feeling sick, why would someone want to use such chemicals in their body? they are so volatile.

One also heard once that fresh cherries and milk in combination turns into a poison in your stomach which makes SWIyou trip like acid. One seriously doubts the truth of this though. Apparently eating a whole jar of nutmeg does the trick also when it comes to a trip similar to acid, but one has his doubts on this also . . .

P.S. please, no one be an idiot and try any of the above mentioned things. They cause extreme sickness at best. They mostly cause death.

Swim thinks behavior like this warrants a little introspection, perhaps if nothing else a good ol' "Why am I doing this?" moment. Have a read through that if this really is the road your monkey wants to travel. Many of the substances mentioned are discussed in depth elsewhere in the forum.

Please always read the ingredients on household goods, & educate your Self & your monkey on the potential effects, fun or harmful, & any potential interactions with other substances. Do not let Monkey loose on mummies medicine or cleaning cabinet without a bit of knowledge under his belt.

The answer to your question is yes however - this is almost certainly how our distant ancestors discovered drugs, & some say consciousness, although obviously the house would have to be substituted for field/jungle/desert/etc.

Again, please be careful, & don't be a statistic or a minor story in the local paper.

Nutmeg actually does have some mind altering qualities.Infact type nutmeg into the search engine here and you will find a few posts.Swim discovered that nutmeg is certainly not that popular for good reasons.

Apart from alcohol there are two types of substance commonly found around the home worth looking into.

1) Medicines - check out whats in the medicine cabinet and then search the forums here to see if it holds any potential. Please do your research, be 100% sure of the contraindications, dosage etc before even thinking about consuming any medicine. Products with potential for a high may include diet pills, Adhd medication, opiate pain killers, benzo's or cough medicine containing DXM.

2) Plants / seeds / herbs - many common garden plants, herbs and seeds are psychoactive. Read through the Ethnobotanicals section for info. Stay away from Datura, it is a poison. Swim would recommend Morning Glory seeds as one of the most common effective natural psychoactives.

Stay away from solvents and other household chemicals, these are all poisons not worth considering by the household high seeker.

One could also consider a trip to the local garden center and / or health shop, where if lucky they may find things such as Kava~kava or San Pedro cactus, or the local headshop which could offer legal highs such as Party pills, amyl nitrate, nitrous oxide or smoking blends.

Note that nutmeg, besides tasting gross, is rumored to last for days and cause some liver damage. In small doses (~3 grams), it is useful as a hypnotic with delayed but long action - taking it in the afternoon can cause a long sleep, which is useful if one usually can't sleep long.

Also, Morning Glory seeds from seedbags are best avoided, since many are treated/coated with pesticides, fungicides, etc.

Nutmeg put swim into a deep sleep and swim recalls some pretty interesting dreams.This was the only positive to it that swim recalls.Took forever for it to start working.Swim isn't sure if this goes for all nutmeg experiences though,the nutmeg swim had was powdered and nowhere near fresh.Swim found he got a slight,quick hit of euphoria from smoking tiny bits of nutmeg but this could have been placebo.Not a pleasant thing to smoke either.

Swim has got one for ya. This might not be a could thing to suggest but swim has done it many times out of desperation. Propane gets you high as f_ck! If you like nitrous this stuff blows it away. Swim had some friends that showed him this when he was a kid and he thought they were f_cking crazy but decided to try it anyway after he saw how f_cked up they got. Swim would not rec omened doing this to anyone but swim has done it at least 10 times and hasn't noticed any serious problems. Just a little memory laps for a few days after. Most would not notice swim thinks. If you are looking for a reality escape this is your ticket. If you take more than a couple of hits you will probably not know what happened and will probably wake up on the ground. So try it sitting down or even laying down. You will find yourself there anyways. If you take more that 3 or 4 hits you will defiantly hallucinate. There is no doubt about that. Swim has never had the balls to take more that 5 hits in row but the friends who showed it to him would tag team the tank for like 10 or so hits in a row until they were on the ground drooling and did not know what the f_ck was going on. When they came two they claimed that they had very vivid hallucination's. Its crazy to watch someone else do it when you are straight. If you got the balls to try it swim would recommend using the big green c_leman camping fuel tanks. They are very cheap and will f_ck up allot of people for a long time. Swim likes to use a nail to release the gas from the tank. Just put the nail between your two front teeth and your lips over the opening on the can and press the valve in slowly. Be careful not to release the gas to fast or you will freeze your f_cking lips to the can. And hold the can up rite. I mean it! Its dangerous! Another cool thing that happens is it makes your voice really low and it sound funny when your laughing your ass off. And you will laugh you ass off thats for sure. Swim has no idea what this does to the body so please be very careful when trying this and swim would not do it to much but it is good for a few laughs a couple of times. Swim doesn't think allot of people know about this because it is an amazing high.

SWILL has got one for ya. Take a handgun and place a single bullet in one of the many chambers. Spin the cylinder so that you don't know where the bullet is and hold the gun to your head and pull the trigger. Whooooa man the adrenalin rush is just unbelievable. I've done it loads of times and I'm OK.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HUFF anything like propane as you are effectively playing russian roulette. You might be ok, you might die. If you like those kind of odds then you obviously feel life is not worth living.

Traumatized, simply saying that "SWIM does not recommend this to anyone" or "please be very careful" is negated by statements like "swim has done it at least 10 times and hasn't noticed any serious problems". Recommending this sort of dangerous activity to anyone is not what we are about. There may well be younger people reading this who take your piece at face value and end up doing serious damage.

There is also the highly flammable aspect to propane as an added danger. Whilst you may think this is obvious and common sense, not everybody will and they wouldn't be the first go up in flames from messing with propane.

Yes, please, any pet out there thinking that huffing propane sounds like a good idea, just don't. Please, just don't do it. It screams bad idea from the fact that you could blow up something to getting your lips frozen to the canister and OD.

The tragic thing about such inhalants (even some used for anaesthesia in surgery) is that some people quickly go into malignant hyperthermia and die of cardiac arrest. Some do, others don't. I remember reading that about a third of those killed by inhalants are first-time users.

The nerve damage caused by most things people inhale that aren't made to be inhaled are inseperable from the effects.This is one of the worst things a person can do to themselves.It's not doing drugs because drugs were meant for human consumption,computer duster is not.Please no one get the idea to huff propane or anything like that.Death or serious lifelong damage to the body or brain could very easily happen.

Well, this might be a bit superfluous, but air duster is a little different from propane.

My penguin tells me that air duster simply removes the air from ones body and that that is what causes the "high". Propane is more like poison, air duster with no bitterance is not nearly as bad.

SWIM believes there are different degrees of drug seeking behavior. Something like picking out a can of air duster with no bitterance (the thing that hurts you if you get the wrong type) is on the edge of acceptable to SWIM. Stabbing a propane tank and then putting your mouth to the puncture site and sucking in, however, is nowhere near acceptable to someone who respects their own body.

Those interested in inhalants should look into Nitrous oxide or Amyl nitrate. These 2 are effective and seem to be reasonably safe for occasional recreational usage.

Most of the others are simply too harmful to even consider, the high is your brain dying.
