Opinions - Bad Situations.

I'm knew and looking around the site i have seen that most people on this forum talk sense not like in real life when you ask for opinions and people talk a load of tripe so i was going to say, about 8 months ago i gave up smoking weed because i started getting heavily drawn into it spending all my money and time being stoned off my face but one night i had to get my girlfriend to get it of someone she knew because there was a bad drought going on around my area so she got it brought it back to me and as soon as she gave me it i thought this looks a bit weird it was dark green and had near enough no smell to it i thought at first must be some bad homegrown or something but anyway i continued to smoke it.

So it started with the bong about 4pm my brother took about 3 lugs i took 1 and my girlfriend took none. as the night went on my girlfriend went home and me and brother put how high on we rolled up and started to smoke we got through the whole bag by about 11 with me having the majority of each spliff about 70/30 my brother was not much of a smoker.

but by about 1am my brother said he started feeling weird so i told him to relax because i thought he was just being a weakling but he insisted he didn't feel right so i told him to go tell my mum who was staying round. the next minute i hear screaming and my brother had collapsed in the hallway i didn't know what was going on so i assumed i was dreaming or something. the next thing he got up and started screaming and running for the phone and jumped and grabbed it and started freaking out. this plus my mum running around crying added to this situation. eventually i called the ambulance stoned of my face by this time my brother was in and out of consciousness and kept telling me his sight was going and his heart was racing that he could feel it.

one thing that stuck out for me was about 10 minutes before the ambulance arrived he woke up out of it and said "whats wrong" and insisted he had no clue what was going on and his last memory was of us watching how high like none of the past hours had happened then he shouted "its happening again" and continued to start freaking out which in return started making me freak out a bit.

The ambulance then came and they went to hospital and i stayed at home i later found out the ambulance people thought the weed was laced with ecstasy or speed but i don't believe so. ever since this incident my brother has been a bit strange sometimes and every once in a while gets the feeling and goes cold and his heart races but as soon as we get to the hospital this stops . anyone got any ideas what the problem could be thanks.

SWIM has been with someone who had a severe reaction like this to weed before, he felt fine at first then started insisting that something wasn't right, but the rest of us just said don't worry you're just stoned. Then he started getting hot and had a racing heart and had difficulty breathing and an ambulance had to be called. He was fine in the end, but I think it was a kind of panic attack. Sounds like this is what you're brother experienced, it can happen in rare cases just from weed, btw the stuff about the ambulance people saying its laced with speed or ecstasy is BS, dealers would never bother doing that.

Maybe he should go to the doctors and tell them about it, cos I think it sounds like a panic attack but I'm no expert so can't be sure.

He has been but they cant ever find nothing wrong, he has been to the hospital about 14 times from this feeling coming over him but when he gets eventually seen it has passed. i myself thinks its a metal thing and he is being referred to a psychiatrist in a couple weeks.

Sounds fully like a panic attack. SWIM has had a couple of these himself from particularly potent bud, especially when he didn't think the bud was going to be that good. SWIM finds that lying down and forcing yourself to think of something positive, while taking relaxed breaths is the best approach.

SWIM would also suggest panic attack, unfortunately the fact he has been rushed to hospital and the doctors can find out whats wrong with him will probably only induce more fear and panic when it next happens. If someone is told they will be alright, even if they get real scared but end up alright they then have a situation to think back to where it was OK even though thought it wouldn't be, that's how SWIM and his friends have overcome fears they have found while on drugs.

On the other hand SWIY with his brother is now in this situation so just riding it out would probably only make the panic attack worse and could cause serious problems associated with panic attacks.
