Drug info - zopiclone and benzos

Hello there, SWIM recently managed to get his dirty little mitts on a small amount zoplicone and he was wondering what the general thing is with them as ive heard that they have very little recreational value and are realy used for getting sleep . what i also want to know is that although zoplicone is not a true benzo it does share certain elements with em. The main thing i need to know is will zoplicon show up on a piss test as one of my mates whos taking them gets teated regulry and is a wee confused if they will show up if hes tested for benzos!!!?

1-Worth it for a nice buzz?
2-Are they addictive?
3-(importent) Does zoplicone show up on benzo tests? Can my buddy take them without gettin ala deep poo!?

Zopiclone, and any of the Z-Drugs are not chemically similar to benzos, they are only similar in terms of their method of action (pharmacokinetics, though they bind more specifically to certain GABA receptors than benzos). So no, they wouldn't show up as benzos on a drug test, but I think it's unusual for a drug test to only test for benzos? I'm not sure if z-drugs show up on any standard drug tests.

1-In general, it seems: Zopiclone? No, Zolpidem? Yes. However, SWIY's mileage may vary.
2-They were originally thought to be non-addictive, but recent evidence suggests that they in fact are very addictive, I think.

SWIM was wondering the same thing about drug tets. Although SWIM thinks both of them actually have potential depending on the dosage, but this seems to vary, along with effects. Also yes they are addictive.

Zopiclone does not come up in any standardised drug tests as far as I am aware. My gurl had been taking them for years and when she went to rehab last year they did a tests for many other things including benzos which came back negative.

I was prescribed them for a while and got them as an outpatient when i was detoxing using lofexidine (even the thought of that shit makes me shiver, lofexidine that is), they seem to be fairly good for getting you to sleep but as for keeping you asleep i didn't think they were very good. This is all legally prescribed stuff, so no incrimination here.

However, my friend has taken a weeks dose at one time, probably more and while they have some effect he really can't say they compare to benzo's at all but this is just his opinion. I would also say that his proper friend loves them and can't get enough of them, so it would seem some people like the recreational value and some don't.

I would also mention the taste, oh the taste, zimmy breathe i like to called it (one of the brand names is zimovane, they are often referred to as zimmies/zimy's) and it is unavoidable. I think it's literally the drug in the blood being supplied to the taste bud area's that causes it because even if you take it in the middle of a block of cheese or something and swallow it whole, you (or at least i) can not escape the taste.
