Well, if smoke too much, get up, walk around, and fall down the stairs, then it might cause brain damage. Ha ha ha....Other than that, i dont think it causes any brain damage.

Well it's turned me from atheist religion belief to agnostic belief

Could that be brain damage?

You're just burnt out. Chill for a little bit. Take it easy, pace yourself, etc. No negitive effects (besides the obvious smoking dangers) have been documented, or it would have been prohibitied a long time ago.

I don't think it will do anything bad to you if you use it wisely
(don't overdo it), i don't think using it twice a week for five weeks
straight is wise...

It's the case with many drugs... And Salvia is one of the strongest...

Though i wonder what made you decide to use it this much?!

None of you here have the resources to say for sure that salvia does not cause brain damage. I can say that after using salvia, I did feel different, but I can't associate any of that to brain damage. I also know people who have smoked salvia about 5 times a day, everyday, for a period of months and they definately seemed different. Even they stated that they felt different, similar to the worn out mental feeling that one might get if they took to many shrooms in a week. I think the question of brain damge, ect is still up in the air though. Moderate use does not appear to cause any problems however.

for a week or so i think, anyway it's kinda unrealistic you have brain
damage somekind of mental damage before, but not brain damage...

How do you mean "they seemed different",tell me exactly how different...have they been stupider, etc. or anything else maybe! I am very insecure in salvia becauseit is very strange "drug". when I smokeit it seems like that my body is controled by someone else! And after that like I said i am a little dump(stupid),forgetting things, etc.!I am not doing salvia anymore because it can trap you and you will NOT find the way out!

I don't believe salvia can "trap" you, but I don't think theres enough known about it to say it has no lasting effects.

Its not really brain damage, its just being burnt out like you can get
off of just about any drug I know that after a long weekend of parties
and smoking a lot of weed, i definately feel really dumb and out of it
on monday and tuesday. It usually ends by thursday or friday. If you
smoke too much salvia in a week or so, i would imagine the effects
would be the same.

But PERMENANT brain damage... i dont believe there is any. Not many
studies have been done on salvia and its permenant effects. The only
thing it might do is widen your views on the world and such because of
its strange hallucinations.

Maybe your feelings of stupor is infact a placebo
effect of believing it damages your brain. everyone is
prone to mind hiccups at some point. I don't think
salvia is damaging to the psyche but i do believe
there is a permanent change of perception.
However, i have found myself to be very
philosophically inclined after my experiences with
salvia. Though, you can't rely on it twice a week thats
a bit pushing it. Find something else in which to
occupy your mind such as reading a book or
practicing a hobby, art or writing or whatever you do
to stimulate yourself. When salvia becomes an
obsession for a person, they may discover
wondrous things, but they're entirely alone in them
and they can become alien to everyone elses
perceptions and possibly become a casualty.

its like with anything you can become a casualty. I
quote homer 'Alcohol: The solution and cause of all
lifes problems!'

just be sure you're ready the next time you use
salvia, it can't give you answers if you desperately
seek them you have to be in the right frame of mind.

ugh, this is silly, of course if you do somthing too much you are going to get worn out over it. Salvia probably does not cause and 'brain damage' does it cause lasting negitive effects? that depends on the person, of course if you feel stoooopid you should stop. moderation!!! i feel stoopid and worn out after studying my balls off, and after taking a math test i feel like i have brain damage, does that mean that math causes brain damage? maby what you are feeling is your brain getting smarter maby not. anyway if you feel like you are fucking with your self then stop. if you think you have a medical problem go to a DOCTOR and tell them exactly what you have been taking, they obvoiusly wont go the police because you can pay your doctor if you are locked up.

Really? I thought it maybee the other way around. I have
been agnostic for several years, and whilest tripping on salvia, I have
heard things and explored new places. Although this dosn't change
my beliefs, it does have me thinking about a lot of stuff I never did
before. Almost enough to understand athesit thinking better
than ever before.

There have been no definitive studies on whether salvia causes brain damage or not. No one knows. However smoking anything will cause a certain amount of brain damage due to things like carbon monoxide.

Personally, I doubt there's much to worry about, as the amount of salvinorin-A in your brain is less than a milligram. A milligram of anything is unlikely to do any real damage

Re: BRAIN DAMAGE from salvia divinorum!?!?

I think it's deceptive to think in terms of Brain Damage.

Hallucinogens don't always react the same way with everyone. I would be more worried about over doing it and freaking yourself out to the point where you have a permanent bad trip scarred into your brain.

I am knowledgeable about saliva specifically. However there are many many many many different types of hallucinogens out there...

It's not a question of brain damage per say... The question is... will the experience damage you.

Don't trip with assholes... or in environments where you or the "general public" can't handle it... someone doing the exact same thing that you do can have an extremely different long term effect.

snickers added 2 Minutes and 17 Seconds later...

I wrote...

Re: BRAIN DAMAGE from salvia divinorum!?!?

It's amazing that anyone could smoke so much salvia. My rats don't really even like it. I'm sure stopping smoking it will bring things back to normal quite quickly. SWIY's world view might be chenged but that's probably for the better.
