Opinions - How do these ads / images make Swiy feel?

Swim just stumbled across these and thought he would share them here to see what opinions Swimmers have about them. What comes to Swiy mind when Swiy sees them?

I think they are quite well done, although they could be better.

Anyway, this sort of thing is much better than the in-your-face "this is your brain on drugs" style.

As for the individual images, I think the cocaine one is the worst. A powder in a perfume bottle just doesn't make sense. The hash one is quite good, although they seem to have made a mistake by leaving "dark chocolate / chocolat noir" on the wrapper. The herbal cannabis makes me think "Too much moisture. It will go moldy" - perhaps not the desired reaction.

I'm not sure how this sort of message will help reduce drug use though, I've not met anyone who "forgets what they really are". In that respect I bit of a waste of money I think.

I agree I think they are pretty well done.
That being said I think the only one that really provides a message is the E one. It makes sense, a colorful little pill that looks like a piece of candy, could lose the association of being a hard drug with a lot of people.


The others, while they look really well done don't make sense. Hash doesn't remind Swis of chocolate and Cocaine doesn't remind him of... don't even know what that is ? (A bottle of whiskey? That'd be ironic)

Yeah, I agree with the posters above me. I think the only one that really was done well was the Ecstasy one.

those don't seem to be making any point at all. these seem more like pro-drug joke pictures that people with photoshop and too much time on their hands posted on blogs.

I thought they were quite nice and well done, although I would agree with fnord in saying that the hash actually made SWIM salivate rather than be repulsed. The ecstasy one is well done, as others said, because it is easy to see the correlation between the pills looking like candy; and yet it is still too tenuous for me. I don't know anyone who forgets that what they are taking is a drug, what I do think people forget are the guidelines as to safe use and understanding when a recreation becomes an addiction. To me those adverts look suspiciously as if they were aimed at the non-drug using population to convince them that "druggies even forget that they are taking drugs", rather than at the drug using population as a reminder.

As others above have said, I don't necessarily find any of these to be effective. However, as far as anti-drug ads go these didn't really bother me too much. The ads that I have a problem with are the ones that when boiled down essentially say "If you take this, you will become addicted and bad things will happen." Those are just a bunch of propaganda.

These don't seem anti drugs at all.As some noted they actually make a person want to use the substance on them.Looks like the kind of things you would see on myspace and on blogs.Why is there not a heroin one?

These images say to me that drugs are not everyday luxuries everyone should enjoy. Drugs require consideration and moderation (and legalization ) unlike perfume, chocolate, or candy.

I didn't even realize they were anti-drug until I looked in the bottom corner. They make me laugh and SWIM misses a few of those substances. Altoid/Ecstasy one was done well.

And I have to say that I find it strange that those who work in these "anti drug organizations" know so little about drug use. Ask anybody of them which drug causes most harm, alcohol or MDMA, and I doubt anyone would know..

Actually - like I see it - most of them opposes the high, more than the negative effects.

Viewing the E one, im thinking man I want some green sour altoids.

Viewing the hash one, I'm thinking it could actually be sold in usa as a chocolate bar, Swim hates chocolate.

Viewing the herbal one, This picture is stupid, its a meat holding container with what looks like seedweed, in no way looks like cannabis. Kinda disgusting looking.

Viewing the cocaine, This image looks pretty cool but is very impractical. Why would powder be in a spray bottle? A cologne bottle with cocaine. The only thought that comes to mind is WHY?

Not all cologne bottles are spray bottles though.Swim has some cologne bottles that are old fashioned where you simply pour the cologne out.

The Hash one is the best, it could be taken to mean "let's not forget Chocolate is also a drug"
