Thyroid Problems Associated With Use

Anyone care to comment on this report from Erowid; The jist of the report is that one user had hyperthyroidism and then after 2c-i use developed hypothyroidism.

Very interesting and seems quite well researched, definately worth some comments.

I guess to add to the topic have any 2c-i takers suffered any of these after effects:

-drastic energy loss
-weight gain
-loss of mood and motivation
-decreased libido

SWIM has been doing 2ci regularly lately (1-2x per week) and has reported no problems at all. Anyone else?

Peace,

D.

Anyone
who has done a little bit of reading knows that research chemicals are
widely regarded unsafe for the simple fact that very little is
known about the long term effects. Reading the Erowid report I
was curious weather or not him beeing on "methimazole" may have had an
adverse outcome. Also it would be interesting to know what other
substances he was using at the time. I don't think there is anyway to
know more about research chemicals until many controlled clinical
studies are done.

SWIM has used 2c-i (and other research chemicals) extensively, and has not reported any medical problems.

Every chemical will effect each person differantly. Personally, IMHO if you have a thyroid problem (or any medical condition) you should consult a doctor before doing any kind of chemical or drug.

Unfortunatley there haven't been many studies done showing the whole bodies requirement of iodine.Iodine beaing a rather heavy compound compared to othersimilar compoundsand it's body excretes itsemi-efficiently. The iodine bond in 2C-I is rather weak. So it comes off of the 2C-I and circulates freely throughout the body and not with the 2C-I. I would reccommend that if one is on any type of thyroid medication or has thyroid problems to stay away from 2C-I and foods high in iodine.
