Effects - Effects of Different Species of Mushrooms?

Hello everybody,



I know shrooms for more than 10 years.

I've been triping on wild Psylocibe semilanceata (liberty caps)
sometimes at high dosage (100 to 150) and been triping a good hundred
of times without any badtrip...always an euphoric trip.



Since i order a shroom kit from Holland.

I took these psylo mexicana and had an horrible trip

Too strong rush, not euphoric at all, This was really frightening

Also, i must admit i was not in good psychological condition when i did that trip...it was my fault.

Moreover, i think i took too much (there were very big shrooms)

Since that time, i'm a little afraid of tryng it again.

I know it would be better to prepare myself before with meditation and breath control to avoid a bad experience.



Has someone similar experiences with psylo mexicana?

Cause i've read they rather give an euphoric feeling...

are there noticable differences between different varieties of mushrooms? mainly, mexican, hawaiian, columbian or thai? im guessing there is, as there is a bit of a price difference (hawaiian cost most, mexican least)


anyone got any thoughts or recommendations on different varieties? cheers.

Every strain will be slightly different, because of different chemical makeups. I'm not sure where you're getting these prices from, but they don't necessairly mean anything.

Basicly they are different prices because of the strenght of them, hawaiin are very strong and cause very vivid haloucinations whereas mexican are not so strong and therefore dont have as vivid haloucinations but still have the mood changing properties

Basically, the only differences are strehgth, however, not that noticeable. The main difference, is the body load. Some are more mind bending, others carry a big body load, meaning you feel them much more in your extremities, breathing ect.

cheers for the info. i ended up going with mexicans, partly because of their cheapness, but also because they are the only strain ive had before, and as im not that experienced with mushrooms yet, thought it best to stick to what i know for now...

Trip wise, is there any difference. Do you feel something or see something or think something on azurescens that u wouldn't on cubensis. Or is it the same effects trip wise?

Azurenscens are the most potent shroom out there. There are nearly three times more potent than your normal cubenis. The wood loving strains like Cyanescens and Azurenscens are much much stronger. Eating 3 or 4 grams of either would be like eating 9-15 grams of normal cubies.

Swim was wondering if theres much difference in trippin on different types of shrooms...?swim has had liberty caps 3 times now...

Magic mushrooms contain a level of psilocin and psilocybin. Different strains vary in potency. Liberty caps (Psilocybe semilanceata), by weight, are amongst the more potent strains. The level of psilocin vs. psilocybin in a particular batch of mushrooms may have an impact, as they are both separately psychoactive yet similar in effects. Analysing this subjectively is difficult due to the inconsistency of trips in general. SWIM has sampled many different strains and found them to be a lot alike though assessing the dose causes the strength of the trips to differ quite a bit.

SWIM doesn't get into the whole "this strain is really visual" or "wow, these shrooms make music better" thing because you're essentially only dealing with two chemicals. It's not like a cannabis strain where many cannabinoids can have an impact.
