Shulgin Lab Book Online

After several years of consideration and preparation, the first of Alexander Shulgin's lab books has been scanned and put online. The lab books contain detailed experience reports about a wide variety of substances as well as notes on chemical processes, formulas, sketches, and hand-drawn graphs.
When funding appeared for the project, the Shulgins' trusted assistants, gregM and Tania, began the labor intensive process of redacting the names of individuals whose privacy should be protected.
The scanning is being facilitated by Archive.org and performed by gregM and Raj Kumar.

There is nothing more pleasing to me than seeing history preserved and shared, and Alexander 'Sasha' Shulgin's notebooks are certainly worth preserving - no matter what your opinion on drugs/psychedelics. Shulgin's chemical innovation, self-testing and reporting of effects of various chemicals is a legendary piece of the history of exploration of 'inner space' - and to be able to view his hand-written notes is quite a thrill.

I wonder how long he has left ? he must feel like times running out.

Nice find, I was reading through it and it has some fascinating information. some parts are a bit illegible and difficult to decipher though. I was curious if we could possibly transcribe this into a digital medium like word or turn it into a complete wiki book or something. I would be willing and have time to transcribe at least ten pages. would there be copyright issues or would it be alright to get this in a more accessible format?

There seems to be a few pages missing. On page 96 he mentions "trials with s. divinorium" and refers to page 63...sadly this isn't there.

If you don't already know, Sasha's first pharmacology book is out on Erowid and archived. This could be added to your RC threads. They (Erowid) are looking for volunteers to type up the written pages so they can be added to the data bank. (This could help your website and the Erowid information base).

EDIT: After browsing through it a little bit I would only worry about The pages that are unlined where there are organic webs and other methods of organizing thought. There may be trouble transcribing chemical structures etc. Should pictures be included? Any format to be followed?

Perhaps Erowid may have already addressed these questions? If this is to be some kind of collaboration w/ DF seems like wome more information on erowids effort would be in order. I'll see if can't dig anything up or get in contact with this member.

Erowid has found volunteers and is digitizing the hand written text. Also, the second book is almost ready! Thanks for all the interest

Is there any reason that pages of it seem to be missing? I perused through it and noticed that it skips a few pages, an example is at section twenty, goes from pg 17 to pg 19.
