Melatonin as a potentiator?

I was just reading in the kratom section "is it possible to get any higher on kratom" This from ajm48786 -

"Swim hasn't seen anyone mention this; so, he wants to share it with you guys. Try mixing roughly 2-4 milligrams of Melatonin, the sleep hormone sold over the counter, look it up if you're unaware of it; it's very safe. It's the stuff our brains secrete when it's dark that makes us feel tired.

Swim has mixed Melatonin with Kratom and WOW! Swim can't describe it; he thought he would go to sleep, but instead he laid and felt an almost psychedelic opioid trip/nod-off. Insane! Old memories came back he had forgotten, people from his childhood, names he forgot, etc; yet the opioid feeling was there as well.

Since Swim has acquired quite a tolerance to Kratom, the effect is no longer as pronounced; but, for at least 3 months, it was the same thing every night. Melatonin interacts with Kratom and the results are very pleasurable for Swim. (Melatonin also is released during an LSD trip and other psychedelic drugs,Swim thinks since Kratom is closely related to Psychedelics, that is why there is an interaction between the two).

Swim recommends your friends start with a low dose of Melatonin, perhaps 1 1/2 MG. That stuff also really does put you to sleep and gives you CRAZY dreams by itself (be forewarned, sometimes the dreams are vivid nightmares,at least for swim, not often though, usually enjoyable). Your friends will get a LOT of sleep if they mix Kratom and Melatonin, at least if their bodies react the same way Swim's has."

Has any SWIY tried this with codeine?

Re: Melatonin as a potentiator?

I believe the reason that it could potentiate psychedelics is because they are based on seratonin, which melatonin also is. I have no idea what the interaction with kratom would be, but swim'll definitely give it a chance. He'll also try it with codeine or hydrocodone and report back.

Re: Melatonin as a potentiator?

I heard an old man saying that he regularly takes 30-45mg doses of melatonin alongside smoking his fine bud each night. "It adds to the euphoria and helps him calm down", was his most stated point.

30-45mg is a huge amount, especially to be taking every night. My gurl is prescribed 2mg a night so 30-45mg is very excessive, I'm not sure if it is dangerous but I can say that it would be a complete waste of money. It's hardly a recreational drug and if it does potentiate other drugs, a much smaller dose than that would be sufficient one would think, and if your old man is looking for some cheap euphoria there are many more options out there that would give a better bang for buck$

Re: Melatonin as a potentiator?

This old mans melatonin tablets are homeopathic, hence they are piss weak. Each tablet contains 3mg, but at 6x dilution. After much searching he still cannot find and literature as to what the active amount in each tablet is. Over the past year however, he has had to increase his dose of melatonin to continue achieving the desired effect of strong drowsiness and a 6 hour deep sleep.

He hasn't found any literature stating a synergy between the two, but in his experience it has quite an effect on him. He said that common sense is vital when using a new drug, including melatonin; and to start at the lowest dose and eventually find the dose that works best for the individual. He said a person would be very foolish to just take 30-45mg without having first developed tolerance, regardless of whether the melatonin tabs are homeopathic or not.

Re: Melatonin as a potentiator?

SWIM took Melatonin to sleep and couldn't cross over from dozing off into sleep which caused some real bad panic attacks.

I panic easy so if SWIY doesn't have panic attacks then it's agreed it gives that psychedelic feeling for a VERY long time
