Meth systhesis what go wrong???

I know a guy that tried to make meth, with iodine/ red phouphorus method,he think everything worked ok, maybe the wheight of ingredients were not very accurate.
But he obtain done a nice reflux, it turned into that honey looking solution with a old fish smell at the end, he said, the basifing with NaOH turn the honey into a milky solution, extraction with NP solvent (ethyl ether used), then turned into a hcl salt by adding water with a coupple of drops of HCl, after the evaporation of that water he get a white crytaline powder with a bitter taste.

But he think that is not meth, he said that he snorted and smoked it, and never get high, not even a little bit. I think that after all that work he just make the same sh** from the beguinning, pseudoephedrine.

What possible go wrong???

or it wasnt relufluxed loong enough
what where the ratios...what was the temperature?
all this i need in order to establish at least an attempt to help you
SWILW thinks from what he can see so far is you ended up with sudo and iodo intermediates

SWILW highly doubts that if that exact method was used no meth was produced

The Guy doesn't have precise measurements, but was this:
PE - +\- 1.2g - extracted from 20pills with 60mg of PE
I2 - +\- 2 or 2.5g - in teory should be 3.9g (60ml of iodine tincture at 6.5% of I2) but with losses it's +\- 2.5g
RP - it's hard to tell extracted from 5 matchbox pads, +\- half of I2 volume
Temperature - done in iol bath withthe candles LOL, the solution was boiling so it should be +\- 95-100º celcius

About the candle thing the Guy done it really really a homemade production lool, so it's all improvised.

if the correct amount wasnt added the HI made wasnt concentrated enough to reduce anything

Just like you said the end product is basically un reacted sudo . When Swim first started learning to cook this is the same problem he had- looked,smelled and taste like it but didnt get swim high .

swiy know there is a much easier method for reducing psuedoephedrine into Methamphetamine. swim knows and has done both rp/I and NH3/Li and swim prefers this route much faster and easier all around. http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26193

Precision should bee a number one priority with these kinds of things, along with safety. A good scale is pretty much a necessity because if you don't have the right ratios, you could really fuck things up, including yourself.

Scales aren't that expensive.

yes that must be true for some but not every one can get a hold of anny
sure it can be made from feralizer
but the smell is what will get the dreamer caugth
unless SWIY lives in a farm type enviroment
you good other wise in a city enviroment
it will be a sure bust

the guy know that is faster, but it's harder to obtain the reagents and is a lot dangerous. the guy wants to make meth not a big BUM in his house, but thanks anyway.
