So swim tried iv dilaudid for the first time last week - did 4 was good then it stopped. Tried 8 was good also, but next time nothing. And so on - now up to 8x4mg and barely noticing it. That spretty fast to be tolerant. Swim is wondering in any swiy has had this experience or is swim doing something wrong? Just cool water, filter - no cooking at all.

Re: Tolerance already???
Everyones body has its own tolerance level and each person will not have the same effects. However this is interesting because SWIM has never heard of tolerance being built THAT quick. This is not to say that in rare cases it is not possible to build such a tolerance.
There are 2 kinds of opiate tolerance. 1] Natural tolerance. Each persons body already has a unique tolerance level to opiates, this can either be high or low. This is known as natural tolerance. One would have seen evidence of this in almost any hospital etc. This is where it takes one person a smaller amount of opiate to achieve analgesic effects whereas it may take another person a totally different amount to achieve the same level of analgesia. This can in some cases be totally independent of body weight or height or any other determining factor normally dictated by other drugs. 2] Acquired tolerance. This is where the tolerance level in the body is built up over time from continued use of opiates. Depending on the type of opiate used and the relevant half life of the opioid in question this tolerance can either drop of sharply if use is discontinued or in other cases where the opiate / opioid in question has a longer half life the tolerance drop off will not be as sharp. Acquired tolerance is much more dangerous than natural tolerance as one can quite easily OD from having a forced dry spell then taking their "usual" dosage. Quite an interesting story . . . thanks ![]() Hope some of this has been of help ![]() |
