Failed drug test?

Hello SWIM had a question about drug testing, specifically for pot because it tends to stay in the system much longer than other drugs. SWIM has done much research, including reading the FAQ on the subject and had found that depending on body type, amount used, duration used, and potency of substance used and type of test it can be detected anywhere from 5-30 days. SWIM has also read some heresy that says for chronic prolonged use it can stay in the system much much longer, up to 10 weeks. SWIM finds this hard to believe. So with that in mind has anyone failed a drug test after not smoking for more than a month, and not doing any other drugs? SWIM has a drug test coming up and was curious if they should consider substitution despite being clean for a 3 1/2 weeks.
