Could MDMA help with opiate withdrawls?

swim has chronic back pain and is prescribed roxis 30mg (oxycodone). anyway, he has run out of his medicine and is wondering if mdma would help ease the withdrawls. would there be any problems with taking mdma when swim is in opiate withdrawls? he plans on rolling for the first time in about a year this coming week. thanks

Re: Could MDMA help with opiate withdrawls?

Well for swim, while on H for yrs, I found that a night out on the ''lil fellows''(''E''s) while there might not be so much MDMA in them anymore. Usually swim would feel rough sooner after taking ''lil fellows'' but saying that, in your case, once swim moved to Spain to get clean and was rough(withdrawing) for months, a night on ''E''s he would feel OK for the night and then when coming down would be all goose pimply, sweaty and a lil worse than usual. Although the next day would feel pretty good, well compared to how he was. But over all I think it doesn't make much difference to the overall situation of withdrawing, maybe just giving you a break for the night. It usally depends on the person so swim's advice would be to try it, swiy will feel better while high. Just try not to stay up all night on em cos swiy is prone to paranoia more while withdrawing from opiates or similar substances. Hay let us know how it went?

Re: Could MDMA help with opiate withdrawls?

swim would think that a bad comedown on e would ENSURE relapse. swiy mentioned that swiy is out of opiates...how easy is it for swiy to acquire more opiates? if impossible, then swiy may want to give e a shot. if it is easy for swiy to score more opiates, swim would advise against using e.

Re: Could MDMA help with opiate withdrawls?

swim has chronic pain (messed up discs in the spine) and is prescribed roxicodone for the pain. A week after his script got filled for the month, he lost it at his university. Swim is trying to get by right now by wearing his old 100mcg fentanyl patches. If swim rolls this week, he will probably take off his patch before he drops. He will for sure be going into withdrawls due to his enormous tolerance. would it be ok to roll with a fentanyl patch on? he has never done it before and is concerned that it might mess up his heart.

Re: Could MDMA help with opiate withdrawls?

I would heartily recommend not taking MDMA or any other Serotonin agonist at the same time as a synthetic opioid/opiate. There have been instances of Serotonin Syndrome involving many synthetic opioids. Chances are your gibbon would be fine, there's also a chance he would not.

Matt, why can your gibbon not just go to his doc & explain the situation, rather than clutching at straws? MDMA has some analgesic properties for certain, but nothing on the scale your gibbon is looking for, & will almost certainly do absolutely nothing other than provide a very obscure twist to any withdrawals - at best it may provide temporary relief, at worst it could make the withdrawals hellish, especially on the comedown.

Best advice, contact the doc, explain the situation & negotiate a refill or alternative pain management.

Unhappy Re: Could MDMA help with opiate withdrawls?

thanks for the reply. yea swim kind of knew the two wouldn't work together. he remembers reading something about serotonin syndrome a while back when he started opies. i called my doc office so they will have a nurse call me back in a while.

swim wants to roll and feel that magic again. mdma was definitely swims doc before it dried up in this town. is there anything swim can do to still roll, or does he have to be off the opies for good? swim really wants to quit them, he can't stand the physical addiction. he has never been like this, and wishes he could just be normal again. if he stops, however, his back pain becomes so severe (along with the withdrawls) that he cannot function. he has tried it before, and with his full-time college schedule, part-time employment, and newborn son to help raise, there is just no way he could maintain. swim doesn't mean to whine about it, he just wants to enjoy a nice night of mdma. it kept his sanity and helped clear his head.

Re: Could MDMA help with opiate withdrawls?

dear swimattprice,

if swiy really wants to feel the bliss of a roll and no more physical addiction of oxy then you simply need to stop taking them. its going to be a bitch, swim knows personally from a morphine/hydrocodone addiction, but if you can take a week or so of pain then you'll be free to roll (no pun.. well maybe a little pun intended) and have control of your life again. i know you have chronic backpain, so maybe swiy should look into different pain relief methods. remember you are in control of what you do, no one is force feeding you those roxis (i hope not)

my best advice is to get through withdrawls and be with some good friends in a good setting and have a roll.

best of luck -G

Re: Could MDMA help with opiate withdrawls?

thanks for the replies. swim just wanted to let everyone know that he rolled last night and had an awesome time! It took all of his chronic pain away while on it, and made it seem like he wasn't even withdrawling. great experience. swim remembers why this was his doc

Talking Re: Could MDMA help with opiate withdrawls?

Cool swimatt, yeah baby! rock and roll some more, if it went so well. Did swiy speak to your doctor about it? and tell them how you feel/felt, especially if swiy's- goose pimple-ling, aching guts, cold, and/or sleeping badly. They must help you, and tell them you find it difficult doing everything and collage, while feeling so ill. When is the little'n, due? mine is 3yrs now, and a handful.

Re: Could MDMA help with opiate withdrawls?

thanks swiopiatewarrior,
yeah swim told his doc and he thought that going to physical therapy would help (which it didn't). He did prescribe some vic 5's, which do nothing for swim anymore. swim was really close to going to the hospital, but luckily swim got a hold of some perc 10's from another source. swim is very thankful and just has to make them last until the end of the week, when swims doc can write another script. swim learned a really valuable lesson and is never going to do that again. swim's baby boy was born on Nov 14, 2007. He is the best thing in his life and is his inspiration for finishing school!
