USA - Advice needed - drug testing (of hair) for military job.

Hey guys, im new to the site i mainly joined because i have not been able to find the information i need upon the internet. SWIM is highly considering joining the U.S air force but SWIM is in dire need of knowing, upon joining or at anytime will they administer a Hair test? please reply asap, id really like to know. Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advanced.

First off, it is not economically sane for the air force to administer hair tests to test for drugs, due to the costs involved.

upon basic internet searching I failed to find a source where hair drug tests were issues to everyone, or often for that matter.

A preemptive measure you could do is to shave your head prior to admission to the air force. If questioned you could say that you would have had your hair shaved anyways in the military so you were just getting used to it, or any other reason that I'm sure a creative individual like you could come up with.

I could be totally off on this, but many law enforcement agencies and high level government jobs require a polygraph to back up the drug questionairre and/or test. I believe specialized branches of the armed forces do as well. Whether this the case with the Air Force or not, I have no idea. But best to check into this too! Best of luck!

Swim is almost positive they will not do a hair test, as standard costs for a basic three-month follicle history is $100-$150, and even more if they want to test over a longer time period. Anyway, swim has gotten the impression that a lot of agencies/organizations stay away from hair tests because 1) the cost and 2) on a personal and even professional level, they really don't want to know what you were doing three months ago, as long as you're clean now and nothing is going to fuck with your performance. As in, they don't want the information that comes with a hair test to disqualify their candidate if there is no reason to believe the person is not doing drugs presently.

Also, if swiy is really that worried about it, there are shampoos and cleansing techniques, though swim doesn't know if they are effective. Swim once bought a $90 bottle of toxin-cleansing shampoo in preparation for a hair test, but ended up not having to take it.

And remember, swiy can always ask them straight out, "what type of drug test will be administered?" It is your right to obtain this info without them regarding you suspiciously for any reason.

They are absolutely NOT effective. Anyone contemplating spending money on this stuff: forget it.

Also, if a subject's head hair is too short or shaved, they will take hair from somewhere else: arms, legs, chest--I'm stopping there; you get the idea...

SWIM has a friend in the marines. They just make him piss in a cup every couple weeks. They don't even care if he drinks alcohol (underaged) or smokes legal buds (absolutely no THC though).

I honestly can't see them doing a hair test. They are too expensive to do on so many people. Plus, I'd consider it an invasion of privacy. It is none of their business what you did 6 months ago (or maybe even longer).

Oh and again, like someone allready mentioned.... none of those shampoos, body cleansers, detox drinks etc etc. work.
Some of the detox drinks may mask the drugs in your urine for a couple hours, but it doesn't get the drug out of your system any faster. NOTHING DOES, but time.

If you think that there's a chance of something still in your system, your best bet is to start drinking lots and lots of water maybe 12 hours before at the most.
You want your urine to be totally clear. The more diluted, the better.

Really though, the only sure-fire way I know to pass a test is to have someone I know give me some of their clean urine.
I tape it real high up on my leg near my di*k.
Then I use medical tape & tape it tight enoughso theres pressure on it & that way it stays warm.
THen I just go into the bathroom, pull out the filled condom and use either my finger-nail or a small needle I stick on the inside of my pants.

This works even when I have someone watch me go.

What do you have in your system that your worried about failing for?

Let me know and i can maybe help you. There's certain things you can say you take that produce false positives on tests.
