How Long?

How long was it before swim knew they were addicted to heroin. Swim was wondering swim knows everyone is different but is still interested. Swim use to be a big coke head but has shot H a couple times and can see it being more of a problem then cocaine was for him.

Re: How Long?

For SWIM it was more of a conscious decision. Instead of "uh oh, now im addicted" it was "fuck it, im gonna use every day from now on". Although i guess you could say that when the withdrawals and depression set in after he ran out, that was "the moment".

For my friend, he was heading for a habit near his 19th birthday, then his father died which certainly didn't help. That said, he definitely can't blame his fathers death as the cause of his heroin addiction, as i said, he was already heading towards a habit regardless.

The day he became a heroin addict was the day he was able to score smack himself, before he would get a friend to score and then smoke a bag or two with them now and agaian. Then he was introduced to a dealer and that was it, habit city.

I have said not to take heroin in a few posts to people considering doing it for the first time, and some of these people are 18 or 19 (one was 16 for fuck sake). I don't mean to preach when i say these things, but i must say if my friend was 18 again, he would give drugs a miss, completely, even cannabis. My friend reckons he could have done something with his life, but drugs fucked it up, i am here just to try and tell people the dangers and try to keep them safe from experience.

Drugs can be good and fun, addiction however is a whole different ball game, it's not fun and heroin is definitely not a sociable drug. It might start out with friends, but when someone gets that habit they will withdraw (i don't mean withdrawal symptoms) and smack will become more important than friends, in fact some people end up fucking their friends over just for a bag.

Didn't intend to type that much, but i felt it had to be said.

Re: How Long?

After about the first 2 weeks of swim using boy, he stopped for a couple days, and was not sick at all. he started again, and used for about a month n a half everyday, and then stopped for about a week. this time, he withdrew. cold sweats, couldnt sleep, headaches, leg cramps, etc. he started again, and used for somewhere around 6-7 months, almost everyday... well, probably within those 6 months he didnt use for a total of a week (spread out of course). After these 6-7 months, he moved to savannah with his dad for the summer to help his dad open a new store. this is when it got REAL shitty. he took down with him 2 suboxones and a couple of xanax. the first day without boy was not that bad, so he didnt take a suboxone. that night however, consisted of no sleep. next morning, after... "waking up", it all began. pretty much the same symptoms as before, but 1000x worse. so he took the suboxone. i hope this gave u an o.k. time frame. oh... and.. my answer to your question probably doesnt make sense if you dont know that having withdraws = being addicted/dependant. (for the most part)

Re: How Long?

During SWIMs continued use . . . he became aware that he was addicted as soon as it shifted from a "want" to get wasted . . to a "need" to feel ok. this occurred after about 2 to 3 weeks of solid use.

Hope this has been of help

Re: How Long?

my friend does boy occasionally and everytime after he does it (like the next day) he will take a suboxone. he takes suboxone because for a lot of people, including him, suboxone makes him not want boy at all, and it makes him not even think about it. this is how he does boy without getting addicted to it. he does it about once a week or so. i think its a pretty smart idea.

If the said person is taking suboxone every other day they aint using H then its safe to say that person has not only a habit with opiates but a tolerance also.Subutex/suboxin all the same opiate, its the new methadone TBH,its real name is ibuphenorphine which is basically just like the old temgesics ppl in prison used to take years ago.. DONT MIX SUBOXIN EVER WITH METHADONE as SWIM did it and he was clucking like a battery hen all night long, lol, not advisable!Although SWIM has taken H on top of it and no adverse effects except the fact it hits your receptors in your brain making it a lil bit harder to achieve nirvana!Cheers

Re: How Long?

if one were to do H only once a week one would not even need a suboxone the next day, especially if one were to have the will power to just keep it at once a week.
